Topic: Overwhelmed! (digibox+ps3+avr)

Good day!

I have been trying to read up on how I can set up my first home theater and I am getting a bit overwhelmed. 

In a nutshell, I have an LED TV that is connected to a cable digibox. I also have a PS3 for games and blue ray. Unfortunately kinapos sa budget and speakers lang nung TV ang gamit ko for everything. For several months now kating-kati ako at gusto kong mag-setup na rin ng receiver at speakers.

I know that the overall audio impact will improve drastically with the upgrade (atleast for games and movies), but my main concern is if I would be able to connect the digibox to the av receiver and stream the tv channel's audio to the external speakers. TV lang kasi ang gamit nung system when my fiance is around and kung sa external speakers din lumalabas yung sounds nung palabas, then it would make justifying the expense to her easier. Hehehe.

Sorry if there are topics on this already. I'm just having a hard time reading through everything on my phone.

Yes sir pwede naman pong palabasin ang audio from your digibox to your avr and then to your external speakers. Yung digibox may RCA left and right output (Red and White), ikabit nyo lang po ito sa receiver nyo ( e.g. select TV Audio in nang inyong AVR, i-select nyo lang po yung source  (TV) sa avr nyo, then lalabas na po yung sound sa speakers connected to your AVR, for the video you have the option to directly jack it into your TV's video in or sa video in nang AVR nyo.

Pahabol na question pa sir if it's ok. When it comes to this type of setup, are there any AVRs that shine? I'm looking at something in the "budget" category. Maliit din lang kasi yung room ko, baka magiba kapag malakas yung binili ko.

My suggestion sir is this, what is your plan in the next months or years pagdating sa audio-video hobby natin. I can recommend something after knowing your plans. Bakit? kasi po, kahit na luma or vintage na receiver pwede mong gamitin para mapatunog yung external speakers for your TV using the digibox, however, since you have a PS3, dapat yung receiver na kayang magdecode nang DTS-Master Audio or Dolby True-HD, sayang naman PS3 nyo kung hindi capable yung receiver na bibilhin nyo. Second, what speakers do you intend to purchase,  dapat kasi, kaya syang i-drive nang bibilin nyo receiver kung medyo low ang watt per channel  output, ang alam ko dapat high sensitivity yung speakers para kahit papano, maayos na mai-drive yung speakers, yung low-sensitivity speaker, dapat medyo higher yung watt per channel output nang receiver.

Marami po sa market na avr for sale na kayang magdecode nang DTS-MA and Dolby True HD. Check nyo lang, meron atang 20k below.
