Wow a 65 incher in your living room. Good choice.

I cant imagine the rise in monthly electric costs ;D.

Not bad at all Pekspert. 3.25kWh per month lang difference ng 65TV against 50VT at 5 hours daily usage - so kahit 12 hours mo pa gamitin daily, that's still less than 8kWH per month -  what's 8kWh for someone na  kayang-kaya bumili ng 65 incher?   Good da ne!  Matindi tinipid ng Panasonic top of the lines since 2010.  In fact, mas matipid pa ang VT model than equivalent top of the line Sony or Sharp LEDs based on the same testing standards.    Kaya yung common assumption na matipid ang LED vs Plasma comes with an Asterisk.  Hehehe.  Yung initial investment lang ng 65 incher ang malaki ang difference.

But yeah, the local price being offered is quite good.  Ang sakit sa ulo magpasok sa Philippines ng ganyan kalaki at kabigat on your own.

yes that is the price. that's why i got tempted to get the plasma rather than the pj. also it comes already with a blu ray player so another bonus for the price. the wait is worth it. haha. sa HT room ang lagay niyan. next stop Dali speakers naman. iyak ang wallet namin nito. haha.

The V series is a chick magnet and has very high wife approval factor - even your mother in law will be happy if you allow her to use.  Hehe     GOOD buy!  Congrats!

Believe it or not...65VT30 (500W) consumes just as much as my 50PY800( 520W ), if not lesser!

It's definitely less ESi...only about 17.5kWh per month at 5 hours a day...that's less than 200 pesos a month for a 65 inch plasma....less than 500 pesos a month if babad ng 12 hours a day.   bili-bili na?  hehe

hindi kaya mag-abot ang total running cost ng plasma and (projector+lamp+peripherals) in less than 5 years?

Just now I checked.. in kWH per year, your 50PY800's sibiling 50PZ800 consumed over 2x that of the 65TV30. (432 kWh vs 210 kWh).

Maybe you can pm or post your story in getting your dream 65 incher! Your room specs viewing distance, gears etc. Maybe we have the same predicament.

I only saw a 65 inch. Maybe you can check it out at local stores. It's an Asian model not a US IMPORT!
