How about Sony 32bx320, this is only P17500 at western, plus a dvd player, its lower model bx311 is P17k, same specs, only difference is that 320 has two HDMI input.

Any input will be appreciated. :D

sir carlo whats your feedback with the sammy 40D550? thanks

It's a good TV for true HD material like NMT, blu-ray or the PS3 but wanting in the area of DVD and regular cable broadcast.

Sony TVs are very good if you get the higher models, like for the 32 inches, the CX 520 is the better choice but more expensive. For a 17k budget you can always check out LG, Panasonic or Toshiba.

Lower end Sony models like the BX320 are not good choices when you consider price to performance ratios.

How about the new LG 32LK430 Jazz Series? Will be using it mostly for PS3 gaming and watching HD movies.

I was initially thinking of buying samsung 32d5000 last month kaso inabot na ng december, di pa din nabili. nakita ko sa abenson yun lg 32lv3520 for around 23k. same ba ito sa lv3500? ito ba ang counterpart ni LG sa d5000 ni samsung? ano kaya differences? medyo namamahalan na kasi ako sa 32d5000.  ???

target ko kasi fullhd, 32" LED.

also 32lk450 at 32lk430, bakit parang walang difference sa specs: http://www.lg.com/in/common/compare/products-compare-result.jsp?CatID=8201&BURL=%2Fin%2Ftv-audio-video%2Flcd-tv%2Findex.jsp

hi guys.. plan ko po bumili ng tv as a christmas gift for my parents. ano po sa tingin nyo ang mas okay sa dalawang ito?

LG 42LK 450
Panasonic 42X30

My first choice was the panasonic but I am rethinking since LG has lower power consumption(I think)  and also it is Full HD panel.

Please also advise the prices. If it is close to the price of Sony 42EX410, might buy this instead :P

My original budget was < 30k.. :)

TV use is for watching cable/dvd.

Thanks :)

Hi Carlo777,

I recently saw an AKAI 46" LED tv being sold at Ansons for just P32,500. Any word on these units? Akai used to be a reliable brand back in the 80s.

Pag cable and dvd...Plasma is always the better route! So the Panasonic X30 is the better choice.

I suggest checking out the current 47" - 55" LCD options from Samsung, LG, Sharp, Toshiba, etc. Even fairly affordable ones can look quite good with proper PC calibration, plus you don't risk imprinting the screen with your PC's desktop.

The sharper and flicker-free image from LCD panels make them more ergonomic, especially when doing PC work.

Thanks Sir Stagea.  Any specific model? What about that Coby 55 incher?

Sir Carlo can you also please answer my question in page 1? Thanks.

Hi all, any suggestions on the 3D display?
I am torn between the LG (light/no battery glasses)  and plasma 3D (coz of the bigger size which is a definite plus!)

Sir Carlo,

How does the x30 fare in high def viewing compared to full hd?

What can you say about the samsung plasma 51d550 and the panasonic 50U20? Compared to x30?

Thanks. Hope to narrow down the choice.

The X30 is  good when it comes to HD content but at times it was not as sharp as lets say some FULLHD TVs like the Sony EX410.

Do note however that what it lacks in sharpness, it makes for in color rendition which is still the arena of plasma.

Since your moving towards 50 inches I suggest that you for for FULLHD already because the X30's 50 inch plasma is still pegged at 1024x768 - A resolution that should really be for 42 inches TVs!

Sir, can you please add for pc gaming?  I bought a 50x20 based on recommendations last Christmas but it can't seem to handle high resolutions when used as a pc monitor.  It reverts to 1024 by 768 which is not even 720p.  Thanks.

Pc gaming? Samsung series 5 TVs (FULLHD) are very good for these things. Pictures may be overly bright but you have a fast panel for games.

On a side note, I still prefer computer monitors for pc gaming because most of these are "in your face kinda games" and I don't really like big screens for that.

so it would be a panasonic u20 or a samsung plasma d550?

if the viewing distance is around 2meters, would you still recommend a full hd?

thanks.

Sir Carlo...got myself a Panny 42X30 as the recos for this unit have been outstanding.

One question though...it exhibits grainy picture...sometimes in dark scenes...even in HD material played thru USB. Noticeable only up close, but still wanted to inquire about it.

Does it really behave that way? I haven't tested HD material played thru HDMI though...but in DVD playback (thru HDMI), grain pops out when I increase brightness in just 2 notches of Brightness.

Hope you can shed some light on the subject.

TIA

baka ang dahilan nya is yung HDMI cable mo. try mo po palitan ng High Speed HDMI.

GOing to buy 42x30 tomorrow. Is it the best below 30k budget? Initially kasi planning to buy sammy 37 led but i like a bigger screen. I'll mainly use it for mkv and movies via usb.

Good buy? or good bye? Little help please?

I don't think it's a source/connection issue...but hey, I'll try that.

Does that mean I have to upgrade to HDMI 1.4?
