hmm i always pull out my device from the outlet kasi napapansin ko if i just turn it off, its still sorta running in the background.. (attached devices dont power off, the unit remains a bit hot etc)..

Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds to completely shut down the media player. Pressing it for a short time will just make the unit on stand by mode thats why the attached device(s) are still on.

Wow thanks! I'll try that. Naka power strip ako with individual switch and that's where I turn it off.

with this new firmware version, nawala na yung metadata ng arrow tv series. and kapag naka auto ang media metadata nawala na ang rescan and delete metadata info, kailangan ibalik sa manual. lol

Rollback mo sir sa previous firmware:

http://wdc.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5860/~/how-to-roll-back-the-firmware-on-a-wd-tv-live-hub-media-center-or-wd-tv-live

Wow thanks! I'll try that. Naka power strip ako with individual switch and that's where I turn it off.

May useful difference ang short press "Off" = SLEEP vs. 5 secs. press & hold "Off" = OFF.

Pag naka-SLEEP, puwede ka pa rin mag access ng USB HD ng WD via computer, or use iPhone or Android phone to turn on (wake up) the unit via WiFi.

Pag naka-OFF, totally off.   You can't access the HD via PC or turn on via cellphone app through WiFi.

Bro barrister, I am thinking of switching to Roku 3.

The feature I use the most in my WDTV Live is streaming from my Buffalo Cloudstation to my WDTV Live via Network Share. I don't know what that feauture is called exactly, pero kaya rin ba yun ng Roku 3?

I just noticed that my Galaxy S3 can no longer detect and stream to my WDTV Live after the most recent firmware update.

I think pareho lang yun WDTV Live, WDTV Live Air, and WDTV Live Play--newer version lang yung Play.  I've never seen Air so it must be a region-specific release.

Anyway, if you're big on watching content streamed live over the Internet, skip WDTV and go with Roku 3.  WDTV Live has very few channels available.

I love watching webcasts so I would love to have a media player where I can watch Twit, CNET, Revision3, etc.

How is the new firmware? I plan to upgrade to Gen 3 since the gen 2 couldn't decode Dolby True HD.

i purchased a WDTV Live SMP a few days ago... connected it to a probox with 4 x 3TB HDDs... mid-movie, the thing stops playing or stutters... i've had it replaced but still the same...

files are 20GB MKVs 1080p + DTS audio... audio is passthrough HDMI to my receiver...

this did not happen to my old WDTV Live Hub...

Latest firmware has a bug.  Hard to connect network.

this is one of the best media players i ever owned.. kulang nalang yung auto subtitle downloader.. if iintegrate yan sa next version ng wdtv live.. ill get one uli..

Naglagay na ko ng TV sa bedroom finally, and I moved the WDTV Live to the bedroom as well.  I'm thinking of getting another one for the sale, or Roku3 na lang kaya?

My wdtv live is not booting anymore. It's beyond the 1 year store warranty but still covered by the 2 year warranty of western digital. Where/what local distro/service center should i bring it for warranty/RMA?

Just updated my WDTV Live to the latest firmware last night. There are several new free channels, as well as other new features.

Good to know that the support continues. I bought this three years ago.

Fellow WDTV Live owners,...

I have 2 WDTV Live, and 4 WD My Book Essential 3TB hard drives,
as well as a 300mbps internet connection,
ang setup ko ay simple lang, nakasaksak ang 2 hard drive sa WD media player, then saksak na sa TV ko,
then that's about it, am I missing something na pwede kong gawin sa media player ko,..? Or even maximize my internet speed,..? I would love to have at least 3 or more hard drives plugged in on a single player, is that even possible in the case of the WDTV,..?

Am pretty sure may mga sumubok na dito sa atin, hope you can share your opinions,...

Thanks,...

Live Streaming na sir yung WDTV player mo?  I remember your old post, sabi mo yata mas preferred mo yung old model WDTV (2nd Gen, no internal WiFi adapter).

I haven't tried it yet, pero madali lang yata using a USB hub.  AFAIK, USB hub is supported in Gen. 3 WDTV players, but not in Gen. 1 and Gen. 2 players.

I have the WD TV Live Streaming Media Player (Gen 3) and can report that it cannot read Lexar Professional USB 3.0 Dual-Slot Reader properly. It does read the card reader that comes with EyeFi.

Current firmware Release 2.02.32 (8/11/2014).
