SET-UP AND PERFORMANCE:
I used assembled front speakers with 12" Crown woofer, 5.5 Konzert mid and metal dome Konzert tweeter. No crossover, I just used capacitors for mid and tweeter. Previously I tried using a passive crossover but poor sound, capacitors are better! For the center and rear, I used non-branded "Jordan" speaker set, with 80watts and 89db sensitvity ratings. I dont have subwoofer. My DVD is Xtreme player, the "pioneer-look-a-like" model. My TV is a surplus 32-inch Sony wide screen with double tuner. So how does it sounds? GOOD to a little bit of very good for movies. FAIR to good for music. Overall, the sound is smooth.
COMMENTS:
1. The main volume WILL NOT CONTROL the C and R channels! So everytime you adjust the overall volume, you have to adjust each channel INDIVIDUALLY. This is very annoying. Another thing, since the volume and tone controls are digital, the settings will return to default everytime you turn off and on the unit. Very inconvenient because you have to set-up everything again everytime you turn-on the receiver.
2. The FM section is not good, poor reception and noisy.
3. The Built-in cooling fan of the receiver is quite noisy, it is audible in my listening position during night time use.
4. Very loud "thud" sound when you turn-off the receiver.
MY VERDICT:
I sold it to my cousin last week for P2,000.
MY PRESENT SET-UP:
I just bought a Yamaha RXV-550, its an awesome 6.1 receiver at 90wrms into 8ohms x 6! Got it from Ambassador-Greenhills at P19,800. I still use the same speaker set-up above. My next project: Soundquest active subwoofer, 150wrms at P8,000 pesos hopefully I can buy before xmas.
Ü
Hi,
Just bought a Konzert AV600R
Specs the same as AV500 above except for
150wrms x 2 front (F)
100wrms x 1 center (C)
100wrms x 2 rear (R)
-When the main volume is changed, the Center, Rear and Sub Out volume also changes.
-The FM section has good reception - clear and strong. (This might just be because of my location)
-The Built-in cooling fan of the receiver is quiet
-No thump when turning the receiver on or off
-When in stereo,3 or 5 channel mode, sub out has signal even when input is set to fm/am/aux (to me this is a good thing). Also, sub out is unfiltered.
-The settings return to default (e.g. all volume settings return to -50db) everytime you turn the unit off and on. Some settings are remembered - channel mode, source selected, selected radio station.
I liked the Sakura 387a but the difference between front and the other channels is too big AND its looks won't match my other gear
I was able to audition the av300r and av600r side-by-side at the store. I didn't like the av300r - maybe it was just not powerful enough for the 450 watt konzert speakers the salesman plugged in.
Very nice for HT. Not as nice as my brother's TOTL Yamaha but good enough for me (for now?) Ok for stereo audio, even better when using 3 or 5 channels - it's difficult to describe but, for audio, I still like my pier sourced vintage setup more. I haven't checked suitability for karaoke and party level music.
Currently, the only thing I don't like about it is the inability to remember settings. Sana merong facility for loading/saving all user settings
. A more comprehensive user's manual would also be appreciated. Will post further comments after I've used it for some time.
****EDIT
-Mas maganda rin pala kung almost all functions can be accessed even without the remote. With this receiver, kailangan ng remote for setting loudness, dsp mode, channel mode and selecting preset radio stations
-Nasubukan ko na ito sa karaoke, ok na ok!

sorry sa rush pics
