This is an important improvement for video enthusiasts.  It is not some circus gimmick like the SOE dog and pony show...  .  That's why I keep advising members to wait for the 2012 models instead of buying the 2011 models now.


Good am. Ask ko lang po, how about the 50X50 (I know it's an entry level) already available at Anson's. Is there any difference compare to 50x30? Thanks

Meron improvement sa contrast ratio sir, yung thpx30 2 million is to 1 ang contrast ratio pero yung x50 3.5 million is to 1 so mas maganda black levels nya. Saka mas slimmer yung panel parang may glass ng konti. Mas ok pa din st30 sir kahit 2011 na model mas maganda black level 5 million is to 1 kaya sa mga dark scenes wala ka na hahanapin kasi sobra ganda.

I guess sir jerkzerocool already gave the best answer.  All I can add are guesses.

AFAIK, all 2012 models, all the way to the lowest-end ones, have new panels.  They are not just 2011 panels with 2012 software and casing.  So if my guess is right, the 50X50 should be brighter; have better phosphors; better contrast and black levels; plus cleaner, sharper motion.

Neo panels are more power efficient compared sa mga entry level na 2011 plasma models, dami forums nagsasabi nya you can research it. First choice ko was x30, then ut30 tapos I ended up with 42st30. Reason ko why I bought the 42st30 is future proof yung specs, it should be good for atleast 3 years bago sya maabutan ng mga entry level na plasma. Especially sa contrast ratio, x30 was 2 million is 1 pero yung x50 3.5 million is to 1. Kahit 2011 yung st30 hindi pa din inabutan yung contrast ratio nya kasi neo panel and infinite black kaya 5 million is 1 contrast ratio. Kaya sa dark scenes sa mga movie wala ka masasabi sa ganda. Nakita ko na yung 42x50 sa western cubao medyo bulky yung likod unlike yung 42st30 super slim parang LED nga eh.

By the time meron na si SNS ng 42X50, ipag side by side ko sila ng 42ST30. But kung di sila nagkakalayo ng price, sure si 42ST30 na kukunin ko.

Hindi ko nagustuhan yung likod mejo bulky. Yung new technology nila na 2,500Hz Focused Field Drive is only for UT50 models and higher so mga full hd na panels lang sya available. Antay ko sana 2012 models kaso baka next year pa lumabas kaya 2011 na lang binili ko. Pero I have no regrets sa 42st30 sobra ganda nabili ko and buti na lang I didn't go for x30 and ut30. Kung hindi ka madali sir I think its worth the wait yung ut50 or st50 for the new technology, pero mas ok talaga sir if mag st50 ka para deeper blacks.

Definitely worth waiting ang ST50 if totoong it has a strong anti-glare filter to make the image quality brighter and more beautiful under lighted conditions.   Kita nyo naman ang difference below.



If the rumors are correct that the ST50 is equivalent to the Japanese G5, the reduction in panel reflectivity (compared to the ST30) will be sooo pronounced - the ST50 would look similar to the middle and right side Panasonics. The reflective one of the left is the ST30.

If you're gonna get the ST30 right now, baka magsisi kayo (or ma doble gastos) once the ST50 is finally released in Manila (hopefully) later this year.  Well if Panasonic does not release the ST50 in Manila within 2012, eh dumping ng 2011 model yon - no disrespect meant.

I estimate the ST50 (2012) to be released here in June 2013.  My basis is the month of release of last year's ST30:
