yeah, I was going to point out Jordan din but didn't want to come of as a Kobe nut-hugger. haha
I don't get the "hindi marunong maging humble" accusation. What is kobe supposed to do? Play second-fiddle and stop playing the way he has always played the game? Although I'd want him to pass more but the reality is that he doesn't play like that.

What does being humble have to do with what you display on the court though? What does being humble on the court even mean? Pass more? Stop shooting? Apologize for missed shots? Don't celebrate and-one baskets or 3point makes?

Jordan was built the same way. My dad would always call him buawaya even and said that si Jordan na daw pinakabuawaya na player na nakita nya. So di ko talaga gets yung mention of Jordan as being humble. He was an arrogant guy. He lived for the competiton and he knew he was the best and if anyone challenged that, he would prove to them na siya ang best. The Dream Team documentary should explain that. Jordan competed with Magic and he wanted to best Magic kahit sa team practice. I don't know how you can be humble when the intention is to be the best and destroy the competition.

Kobe is .... Kobe.  When he said he can beat Lebron in a one on one game, he also said Lebron is the best five on five player.  I don't see that as being arrogant.  He also said Durant may beat him and I also agree because Durant is a good jumpshooter like him, unlike Lebron.   Kobe was just being objective.  As for Jordan, he's kinda the same.  I remember him ridiculing Starks and saying he doesn't understand the game of basketball.  And Jordan is such a competitive freak that even now, he wouldn't give tips to casino dealers in Chicago because in his mind, the dealers are his enemies too and out to beat him.  So why give tips to your "enemies?"  Kwento yan ng pinsan ng misis ko na casino dealer sa Chicago.  And while with the Wizards, after a game he would play shootout bets with Rip Hamilton.  Problema di sya aayaw hangga't di sya nananalo, kahit maghintay ng more than 1 hour yun mga ibang players sa bus.

haha damn it. I just remembered my childhood sa last scenario mo bro. I was in 5th grade and I had a shootout bet with a few high school players. Hindi covered yung court and I kept losing. It started to rain and they were saying awat na. I told them we'll keep going. hahaha. Naawa na yata saken yung iba kaya binalik yung talo ko. LOOOOL!

Hirap din ng competitive yung mentality kasi it gets mistaken for arrogance. :D

‎"Obviously, this isn't working," Lakers star Kobe Bryant told Yahoo! Sports after the Chicago loss. I've tried to go out of my way to get (Howard) the ball. Sometimes I end up looking like an idiot, because I get up in the air, I've got a shot, but I try to find him. But he thinks I'm going to shoot, so his back is turned. I'm trying to think about getting him the ball a lot -- take care of him as much as I possibly can. It takes me out of rhythm a little bit, but I'm fine with that. If that's going to help our team, I'm more than willing to do that. I've constantly tried to help him out, tried to talk to him, Two o'clock in the morning, three o'clock in the morning. Texting him. Sharing reading materials. Anything to try and help him. He's coming off a major surgery in a market where it's just merciless; where there's demands and responsibilities of athletes. It's been tough on him."

Ayan na nagsalita na si Mamba.  I saw that one play, Kobe up in the air and suddenly passed to Howard who turned his back.  They both looked stupid.  I knew Kobe will say something about that.  Eto na nga. Hay naku.

I hate to say this pero i cant blame either of them for that, halatang walang chemistry.  Yung ibang team hindi pa nakakaspin yung player naibato ng yung bola and the 4 or 5 just needs to jump and dunk or catch and shoot point blank right after his spin.  I thought mda would have been a smart enough coach to let the players play their game and make plays but from the looks of it he's shoving a system down veteran good players' throats and its not working.  What a waste of talent, reminds me of the portlamd team that the lakers beat in '00.

fortunately for Heat they can do that :) i really don't see any team from the East that can matchup with them

Agree. I'm betting on NYK to eventually challenge MIA in the ECF, but MIA should still be favored to return to the Finals. It would be nice though for MIA to face BOS in the playoffs again. BTW, MIA travels to BOS on Sunday. Should be a good one - Ray Allen's homecoming.  :)

In contrast, the competition in the West is really tough. OKC, LAC and SAS all have better records than MIA as of today.
We deserve better.

looking at how miami is playing it looks like they are pacing this time. since they already won a championship pressure is off. unlike last year where they need to win every game of the season to silence the critics. ny possibly has the best chance to compete with miami. as for boston they were never the same when they traded perkins. and now without allen i dont consider them as contenders anymore.

Kahit naman siguro hindi umalis si Allen sa Boston, he will not be a difference maker.  Even sa Miami, Allen's play now has deteriorated since the early part of the season.

say hello to the New Orleans Pelicans! hahaha

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--new-orleans-hornets-to-announce-change-to-pelicans-at-thursday-news-conference-181328311.html

Seattle Supersonics (although lumalaban pa Sacramento to keep the team in their town)
New Orleans Pelicans
San Francisco Warriors (future pa naman)

Quote
in Hollywood news:

According to The Los Angeles Times, the Lakers held a "loud" clear-the-air meeting Wednesday that included Kobe Bryant directly asking Dwight Howard if Howard disliked playing with him.
According to the report, the meeting started with coach Mike D'Antoni telling the team he was tired of hearing them complain about the offense and ordering them to start playing defense. At one point during the meeting, Bryant then confronted Howard, but the big man reportedly reportedly "didn't go back at Kobe." Add this to the trade rumors, rumblings over D'Antoni's job security and mounting losses and it appears the Lakers' five-ring circus has reached its pinnacle. No one knows where it will go from here, but it's obvious to us something needs to change in L.A.

Oh the drama!

Or maybe the same scenario during the last year of Shaq. LA choosing the younger player who is still entering his prime.   :D

yeah...but Dwight doesn't look anything like a franchise player at all. Bynum played better pa nga e. If only Bynum didn't have glass knees, I would love for him to stay in LA.

Dwight re-injured his shoulder pala during the game. so sure shot loss na naman for the Lakers. but it's not like they were expected to win with Dwight anyway. haha

Though it won't happen, the better logic would be to move Kobe. LA mortgaged their future in taking Dwight.  And it's either they would get nothing for Howard if he doesn't resign or they wouldn't get equal value.

With Kobe's salary at around $30M, they can actually get 2 franchise players for that.

Kobe has a "no trade" clause in his contract. So, how can they move him?

And Dwight is just a very, very big liability right now. His play is so poor and so predictable, he is not even the star player that he is supposed to be.
