That decision is none of his business. He is the commisioner and not the team owner. What an A$$!

LA had chicken nuggets for dinner tonight...

Jodie Meeks near perfect from 3 points, 7/8 for 21 pts. Jamison with a career high 33 pts and 12 rebounds.  Mamba "only" 14 pts and 8 assists. Howard 28 pts & 20 rebounds and with a rare 3 pt shot with 8 secs left, his 2nd only in his career.  Can't beat the Lakers with that kind of production.  Result :  122-103 drubbing of the Nuggets.

Last game vs Pacers, Lakers can't seem to do anything right.  Earlier vs Nuggets, Lakers can't seem to do anything wrong.

Now if only they can be more consistent.

I didnt watch the game. Read that even Dwight launched a 3 and made it?! And yeah, now that's a bench performance! Now, lets shoot for consistency. Hehehe

Can Stern just fine SA 250k?
Lumaban naman ang Spurs even w/o their 4 stars and what if Miami lost that game?
Can Stern's decision be overuled by the league owners?
Style na ni Coach Pop yan resting their old players in preparations for bigger more important games.
SA team owners and management dont have problems with that strategy of their coach so who is Stern to dictate to them what he wants?

Lakers won becoz they scored over 115 points.
Question is, can they win when they score less than 90 points?

Now that is the problem come playoff time where each play is deliberately grounded down to a crawl and execution is the name of the game.

i kind of understand Stern's point of view. whether we like it or not, the NBA is first, and foremost ,about entertainment. imagine you're from Miami and you want to see a key match up between two of the best teams form the Eastern and Western conferences and bought a last minute ticket to see the game whether it be a jacked up price or not. then all of a sudden you realize that 4 of the opposing team's starting players are not playing. wouldn't you be disappointed as a paying customer? it's like robbing a paying customer of a chance to see a great game between two teams (with a complete lineup).

what can be bigger than a twice a regular season match up between the best of the Eastern and Western Conference teams? it can be a deciding factor to who would have a home court advantage in case these two teams both reach the finals.

in addition, teams normally rest their stars on the final day of the regular season.  I remember Pat Ewing, LBJ, C-Webb and a whole lot more of stars sitting the last game of the season without a fine.  In my opinion whether its game number 20 or game number 82, stern's reason of it robs the fans of getting a chance to see the stars play is a double standard against SA.  Ayaw nya SA kasi boring daw...sheesh what a douche.

got that right sir. it was actually a very entertaining game kahit puro bench players lang. lamang pa nga sila ng isa with less than a minute to play, kung hindi dahil sa late 3 ni allen baka natalo pa heat.

what can be bigger than a twice a regular season match up between the best of the Eastern and Western Conference teams? it can be a deciding factor to who would have a home court advantage in case these two teams both reach the finals.

pop was probably more concerned sa division seeding kesa sa homecourt advantage. memphis ang biggest threat sa kanila sa southwest kaya siguro he decided to rest his big 3 and danny green para fresh sila when they play them today. if they end up tied  sa standings after the regular season, habol nya yung better winning percentage.

Somebody should adjust nationally televised schedules so that those games dont have teams playing without a day of rest before the actual games. Or worse, one team playing four-straight games leading to it.

In that kind of game spectators usually cheer for the underdogs who fought to the very end despite losing in the end. That's entertainment!

tama lang yun, ginagawang joke ni popovich yung nba. so sabihin na natin 5 game road trip, eh di pahingahin nya yung ibang players sa ibang game or ikalat nya yung pag rest nung starters. game vs the heat is one of the anticipated games at nationally televised pa. and against the defending champs at that tapos bigla nya ipapasok mga bench? pano naman yung mga fans na bumili ng tickets to specifically watch the spurs stars? just imagine if ako yung bumili ng ticket na yun para mapanuod ko si parker at manu tapos biglang wala naman pala.

i agree na di dapat nakikialam ang commisioner sa rotation, but then again its a business. dapat i balance ni pop yung pag rest ng players nya as if naman di nila alam yung sked nila sinakto pa talaga na against the heat.

^ differences in opinion i guess, but ultimately the owners employ the players and if the owner gives the coach the authority to sit players then its their call.  The league does not pay the contract of the player, owners do.  LBJ sat a nationally televised game as a Cavalier, and since Lebron WAS the cavs at that time, the effect to the fans and ticket holders were the same, the fact that it was a heat game was circumstancial.  Bottomline is Stern is a douche that has double standards against other teams.

wow! spurs leading by 2 in OT after trailing by double digit midway thru the 4th. now that's beauty rest!  :D
ginagawang joke ni popovich yung nba.
thats because the 82-game nba schedule is a joke. especially for an old team like the spurs. a heat game is just 1 of 82 games. and who cares about the best record in the regular season? not the spurs. they were the top seed when the memphis team kicked their asses in the 1st round playoffs back in 2011. imposing a fine is one of many power-tripping jerk moves of stern. i just think that the spurs' stars rest should be announced beforehand for the fans' sake.

this is the first time that i agree with stern. as a fan it feels like the nba regular season game is not important to pops. he rested all their star players. parker and green are not really old anyway. all the teams go through that kind of schedule but i dont think they would rest 4 of their starting five in the start of the season.

the 82-game season has been around for a long time. wala naman dati nagcocomplain about it ngayon recently lang. also, it's not the NBA organization's fault why the Spurs wants to field in an old core. why should the NBA give special treatments for old players?

Spurs didn't ask for special treatment, the penalty is ridiculous.. Stern is getting old, maybe he wants to leave a mark before he retire..

What special treatment did the Spurs ask the league?
They think the straight games were tough so they use strategies to keep their old players fresh.
What's wrong with that?
Malas lng nila the Spurs bench lost a close game to the star studded Heat.
Ewan ko lng what Stern will do had the Spurs won that game.

Kevin Martin is really blending well with OKC. He shoot treys and drive hard with unorthodox shots. Mukhang OKC did the right thing letting go Harden in place of Martin.

yes its a strategy but its like just giving the game away. di sana nagpadefault na lng sila kung gusto nila magpahinga. all the teams go through that kind of schedule anyway. it wouldn't matter for me if pops was coaching the wizards bcoz we all know they are not contenders. unlike spurs na top team sa west tapos magbibigay lang ng laro. what if ganun lahat ng strategy ng team eh di wala ng kwenta ang regular season games. maglalaro lang si superstar kapag mahalaga yung game.

i hate stern and doesnt agree with him 99% of the time. but sometimes you need to protect the business and enforce the rules.
