I don't think tsamba because he did it several times on different teams albeit on different situations pero same scenario, His team won over the other with the margin as a result of his shot. Pero memorable talaga yung swat ni Divac outside that fell on Horry's hands that broke Sacramento's bid to the finals.

haha ewan ko para saken yung specific shot vs the kings sobrang tsamba talaga. I was like "wtf, mintis yung inside shot. wala na 'to" tapos si Divac tinapik sa labas. Tapos boom, swerte andun si Horry for his hail-mary shot. Kumbaga, yung specific situation na yun, wala siyang choice kundi itira. kahit sino ititira yun ke-clutch player, choker, center, last man from the bench. so IMO, that was not a clutch moment. That's what you call a lucky break. 1 shot doesn't define a player anyway.

Paxson vs Suns (NBA Finals)
Reggie Miller vs Bulls (yung tinulak niya si Jordan)
Lebron vs Pistons (game 5 yata un, ung nag-O.T)
Stockton vs Rockets (West Finals yata yun)
Brandon Roy vs Mavericks (yung last year yata yun, ung 4-point play niya)

yan po ba mga clutch yan?

Ang clutch player ba can be considered as sure shot players depsite pressure and stakes during the last minutes of the game? and it has to be done consistently when needed right? Using the same analogy, yung buzzer beater can be considered clutch players provided several times din nila gagawin. :)

I guess pag clutch, a simple look at its definition would already give you an idea of how it can be applied in basketball speak.

To clutch is to seize. So someone who seizes the moment and brings victory can be considered as clutch. Siyempre kasama na dun pressure, how he handles things during those waning moments of the game and his consistency of doing it in similar situations.

However, i don't think it can be defined in black-and-white terms. may gray line yan. Variables. Can't say na buzzer beaters aren't clutch. ***but i still maintain na super swerte shot yung kay horry. para kasing hindi yun yung normal release nya. minadali at sinwerte lang. lucky break talaga. right place at the right time. hahaha

Pero nung bata ako, alam ko lang na clutch eh yung Miller time. :D

All clutch players can do buzzer beaters MJ, Kobe, miller, but not all closers can be called Mr. 4th QTR.. I like horry but he's more of a closer.. Tmac is a great closer too.. Billups during his pistons days was clutch but not closer, meron sila iba..

Regarding sa Chokers, missed FTs choking narin yon di ba? ;D

Pero mukhang narealize naman ni Ray ray:

Missed free throw puts Heat's Ray Allen back in the 'lab'

Quote
Allen stayed nearly an hour after practice shooting free throws with an assistant coach. He shot at least 150 in the first part of the workout. He finally ended the session after making 100 of 102.

The reason was simple.

Allen missed a free throw that would have sealed the Heat's victory in regulation against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals. They instead needed a last-second basket by LeBron James in overtime to avoid the opening-game upset.

re: vogel's alleged mental lapse for not using hibbert on the last play.

1. vogel knew that throughout the game cole, james & wade's "drive & drop pass" to birdman was unchecked and too much to be ignored (7 of 7 si birdman just by waiting under the basket). even bosh is "clutch" on dying seconds (remember their regular season game against the spurs).
2. a minute before the end of the game, dwade drove to the basket which hibbert failed to stop.
3. and, remember this data on james:

he was already on his sweet spot when he received the ball. if hibbert was there, james would have just taken a jumper.

imo, the result would still be the same... ;)

magaling lang talaga si coach spo for capitalizing on his players' strength and creating situations where they will most likely be successful.

naalala ko si arenas dati parang kelangan makamake ng 500 shots siya before he goes out of the gym. and yung kay kobe naman na kumalat na story parang 800 made shots before he stopped shooting. grabe dedication talaga.

Dagger is easier. Haha

Doesnt need to be a shot from a clutch player. Pag dagger kasi finishing blow  dagger to the throat. The shot that killed the chances of winning for the opposing team.

After the discussion though, I think there is a distinction between making a buzzer beater and being clutch.

See Dwade 2006.

Quote
Wade started the comeback by leading the Heat back from a 13-point fourth quarter deficit in Game 3, scoring 12 points in the final 6½ minutes to send the game to OT. He also made the biggest play of the series with his crazy dribbling foray to the rim at the end of overtime in Game 5 that -- controversially -- earned a whistle from referee Bennett Salvatore and a trip to the line for the winning free throws.

ESPN: Greatest Finals performances: No. 1

Some say though that the Refs were the ones who's clutch. ;D
