I feel the upgarde itch is about to bite soon but before I let it affect me again I would need opinions and suggestion from the masters here.
About 30sqm meter 14x20x9 room dimension
1. Which is better 7.1 , 5.1 or 5.2?
2. Will I benefit having 2 sets of surrounds? Rear and sides
3. Night and day difference ba having dual subs? (Svs pb12) Considering my small room.
4. Should I just stick with my 5.1 setup? (Rtis with power amp and svs) and just invest on acoustics?
Thanks!
Below are my opinions:
1. If your couch is not against the wall and you can physically have speakers properly located behind you, then consider 7.1 if you like. (Though if your also picking up a new receiver and plan to get one that supports widths - i'd rather go with 'width speakers' rather than back surrounds)
2. It all comes down to proper speaker locations - if you can mount them where they should be mounted, then you'l benefit on material that utilizes them.
3. I've tried running dual-subs on a 20sq.m. room and its tough to go back to a single sub after
. It really balances-out the bass around the room too. (At this point - i probably wouldnt even consider a receiver that didn't support atleast 2 subs just so I have options).
4. Definitely !! I'd do this first before even thinking of any of the stuff above.
