bros,

yun bang impedance na 6 ohms in most of the dai-ichi speakers is NOMINAL? thnks ::)

Bro i think nominal yung mga impedance na ginagamit nila. Coz there is no flat speaker impedance such as 6 or 8 ohms. They just use the average. I maybe wrong though. I think this could be clarify by our guru's here. :)

Bro,
I'm no expert but, the impedance is more for matching the amp with the speaker. I think of it as a water hose and attaching it to a faucet. For example, an amp that can drive a 4 ohm speaker is better than one that can drive only 8 ohms. If you have an amp that can drive only 8 ohms and your speaker has a 4 ohm impedance, that's a mismatch, the amp will work harder to drive it and might end up damaged, but if your amp can drive 4 ohms, you can attach speakers with 4 ohm impedance and any other speaker that has a bigger impedance. So, I think nominal isn't really appropriate in this case. That 6 ohms, to me, would mean, drive those speakers with amps that can drive 6 ohms or lower. And an 8 ohm amp would work harder on it. But as I said, I'm no expert. That's just my 2 cents.

bro lance, arthurallanj thnks for your insights--  ;D

yup my amp's spec says that it can drive 8 to 16 ohms speakers. m asking this kasi wharf is also 6 ohms but it also says that it can be used for 8 ohms amps. in terms of utility it would appear that the wharf is more flexible then...

yan nga ang balak ko, since mura lang ang DTX tower,
eh di yun na lang din ang rears ko tutal full range din naman ang rear surrounds eh, saka kapag DTS mas mababa ang freq na ibinabato sa rear.

rock the house!!!

bro jerix,
just make sure that you don't max out your amp, because with those specs, obviously, medyo mahihirapan ang amp mo, so moderate lang, kasi you might end up damaging it in the future. Think of it this way, ang hose na malaki ay ikinakabit mo sa gripo mo na maliit, pupwede, but the pressure isn't that strong, d ba? Just like your amp and your speakers.

Bros Maki and Kimpoy,
The DTX 9.5 bookshelf is really intended for use as surrounds, no need to worry about timbre matching since they have the same drivers and differ only with enclosure size. Now, if you don't have space constraints, go ahead, buy the DTX 9.5 Towers and use them for surrounds, mas ideal nga kung pareho na lahat ng speakers mo e. But if you do have problems with space like some of us do, bookshelfs are best, kasi sagabal sa daan ang towers if maliit lang room mo d ba? And here's a fact, frequencies around 200Hz and below are not localized, meaning, you couldn't really  tell where the bass frequencies are coming from, so whether or not your surrounds are full range, it wouldn't matter that much, because you have the subwoofer to take care of those frequencies. Just make sure that the lower frequency response limit of your fronts, center and surrounds overlap with the upper freq. resp. limit of your sub. One more thing, surround speakers are ideally placed 2 to 3 feet above ear level, so mas mahirap siguro kung towers ang i aangat mo to that level right? And I think the DTX 9.5 Bookshelfs cost less than 2k, not sure though, anybody tried calling dealers for the price of a pair?

Just a suggestion guys, why not consider buying newer models? I know, maganda din ang mga lumang Daiichis, especially the Classique Tower series, I know since I have a pair, but the newer ones, I think, are more flexible since they're biwirable, and more sensitive, and clearer-sounding, and the latest innovations and tech are applied on the newer ones, too. My point being, the newer ones are kinda more "appropriate" for the newer needs of HT. But that's just my opinion.

I heard from another pinoy forum that prices of Daiichi products will increase by April. This goes for car audio products like Targa and Fenton. Siguro sasabay na rin yung mga Home Theater products. Kailangan ng magmadali. What shops can you recommend and their contact numbers and addresses sa Raon:

a) Getz sales center
b) Knight Audio
c) Paul Vincent

Many thanks!

Mga bros,
Try Moses Aaron, they have the lowest prices for Daiichi products compared with all the other shops na naikot ko sa Raon. They're connected with Paul Vincent, magkamag-anak ata ang mga may ari nyan e. Try looking for Mike sa Moses Aaron, mabait yon. Nagbibigay pa ng additional 5% discount. :)
Moses Aaron is at 623 G. Puyat St., Quiapo. Tel. no. is 735-4390.

TC. :)

majority they dont accept CC, ipunin mo na lang bro then kapag may ipon na, dun mo na bilhin,

oo nga pala, my 2nd DTX9.5T arrived as my rear surround.
Yes a tower for  surrounds, since its relative cheap, buying the bookshelves plus stand or bracket,  cost will be the same. plus di pa naman masikip sa sala.

with its range in freq, ive never heard low freq sound in rear surrounds before especially DTS encoded disc (U-571 dts),

sometimes it can throw (imagining) the rear sound above my head (Attack of the Clones) eto yata yung DD-EX, my small yammy cubes cannot do that.

Ganun ba. Siguro nga ipon muna. Gusto ko sana in one go lahat ng bibilin. Since tumatanggap sa Daiichi ng CC,
pwede ko na sigurong bilhin yung 9.5T and 9.5C.
Question lang, ano ba yung biwiring? Any thread I could look into to know more about this? Many thanks!
