Punta na rin yata ako mamaya sa Megamall para ma-audition itong Euros. Pwede kaya pa-palitan yung fronts ng ibang model ng speaker ng Dai-ichi din na mas okay para sa music?

sir arthurallanj might have a point with the amps I am using. I am using Yamaha HTR 5240 (HTR Home Theater Receiver) baka nga dahil designed ito for Home Theater kaya medyo di masyadong ok sa audio, this also holds true kahit nung Bose pa ang naka kabit na speaker ko sa fronts.  I will try to use a Sansui amps (Old model nga lang) this weekend if I will have time, then I will post my review.  ;D

Just gone to there showroom yesterday at Megamall for HT ok lang Euros but for music mukhang di bagay kinda bright and lean they are using Yamaha AVR and DVD player for demo and notice bakit yun bass is different not sure baka out of phase ang kabit minsan meron sometimes eh mahina considering the 2 big woofer i doubt yun lang kaya nya. also tried PL100 same observation.. so i ask the girl assistant if they still have some other models and she pointed me inside dun still have the euros, DTX slim and US600B ( not sure of the model US) but the later is better in music a little roll of yun high pero baka makuha sa placement and break in tapos buti and NAD amp gamit nila.  :) pero DVD pa rin player

will try to visit there RAon showroom and bring some CD di ako nakadala eh biglaan.. :)

That's okay bro, those vintage amps are great, even better than some new ones, so go, test those beauties on your sansui amps. I believe the Euros are gonna be great for music since Daiichis usually have great clarity and as other owners previously posted, the bass response is also great. This has been the weakness of the highly popular DTX 9.5 series.  ;D

I went to the Raon showroom, okay naman service and showroom setup nila. Ang laki pala ng euros towers! Nagulat ako sa laki, di ko na-imagine from the pics. Kahit yung euros 6 and PL-100 medyo malaki pa rin. And volume-wise medyo parang overkill siya sa HT room namin. Since may stock pa ng DTX sa stores sa baba, I think yun na lang bibilhin namin, sounds okay naman, much better than our current setup, and I like the maple design.

Pinarinig muna nila yung movie DVD demo disc nila (Gladiator, Saving Pvt Ryan), parang di gaano kalaki difference from yung HTIB namin except for the bass. Tapos pinatugtog ko yung dinala kong CD na classical naman, Art of Fugue ni Bach performed by a string quartet. Ang layo ng difference! I could hear so much more than I used to hear from the HTIB. Nagtataka nga lang ako bakit nila ipha-phase out yung DTX series when I think there are still people who only need speakers of this size and will be overwhelmed by the euros (like me).

hello guys,

i'm kinda new in HT systems. can somebody tell me the difference between connecting your speaker directly to your dvd player with 5.1 decoder and using a receiver between your dvd player and 5.1 speaker.

thanks  ;D ;D ;D

pwede kaya magdala ng AVR sa megamall showroom and pakabit yung euros8?  this way ma audition mo ang matching level sa sariling mong AVR.

thoughts?

Any AV shop should allow that.  As it can convince the customer of the quality of their products when connected to the customer's gear. This is often done prior to many purchases I've heard in this forum.  Though that Dai-ichi stall at mega is a showroom, I wouldn't be surprised if they can't accommodate your request.  But do visit them or give them a call and check before lugging that heavy receiver to them.  Also, I think they have a higher sticker price than most AV shops that retail the brand. Raon would be a place for some bargains.  And I'm sure any AV shops there can accomodate your receiver.

5 piece set of Dai-Ichi (towers, center, bookshelves) costs 7,300 at Raon. Pinag-iisipan pa namin if we should get this or the larger, louder and slightly more expensive euros set (9,000+)

A DVD player's output is around 2 volts RMS.  That's about half a watt into 8-ohm speakers.  That's the maximum you can get.  Not many speakers will be driven with such an input.  So if you want something louder, you'd need an amplifer or a receiver.

Anyone ever owned one of these? It came with Dai-Ichi's HT set I bought about 9 years ago. It says ASW 88 at the back. I used to use it as pc sub when I upgraded my HT but it's all torn up and creating all sort of noises when powered on.

Shown with all the dust and cobwebs in it.  ;D ;D ;D

This is the back, it doesn't have much of the controls found in modern subs though.

I think the DTX 4.series subs are better than the Euros 8 sub. The DTX 4 series subs are front firing and therefore would produce more accurate bass. The Euros subs have a 4th order bandpass enclosure that tend to produce inaacurate bass due to the enclosure design which has a resonant frequency of its own. The Euros 8 would sound more powerful though but again, inaccurate.  That's why I've decided to pair the DTX 4 series sub with the Euros. For the sake of ensuring timbre matching, it's best to have all the speakers in the set. The sub wouldn't be that critical in that aspect. But I don't think it would be much of a problem since iisa lang naman ang gumawa nyan e. And experts have always advised to get similar speakers or at least get speakers from the same manufacturer.  ;D

Bro, why not get it fixed at Daiichi? Sayang din e. They'd fix it for free. But you'd have to pay for the parts that need to be replaced.  ;D
