Bro lmerb,

Of course. But they'd have to be placed at ear level, so you're gonna need stands or wall brackets.  ;D

Bro kt, ok nman.. Astig.. ganda tunog.. kahit wala pa ung rear ko <nasa province pa eh, pinapadala ko pa dito> eh astig!! Imiikot.. I watched ung harry potter.. hehe.. ganda!

bro lord wat speakers did u get na ba? abt sa sub placement...there are times kasi na a sub closer to a wall/corner can get too boomy, so u hav to move it away sa wall to lessen the boominess. wat do u mean by kulong yung sub? kasi consider mo din if u plan to get the dtx 5.8 its rear ported bro!

Bro kt, Ah... I settled with DTX 9.5 as my front and euros8 as my center..

I would never suggest placing a sub in an enclosed space. Subs move a lot of air so they need to breathe. But that's just me.  :)

bro lord tama si bro art! magiging kulob din yung output ng bass mo pag ganun. mas maganda pag open yung space nya. lalo na nga yung 5.8 rear ported sya. i'll check ltr the specs bro!

Here's my reply to a previous post, your post.  ;D

I don't think so. The Euros 8 towers lowest frequency response is at 50Hz. At that frequency medyo mahina na yan if compared with the response at the higher bass frequencies. So it's still best to have a good sub. Preferably a front firing one. And if you can afford one that's of better quality, that would be great. What I mean with better quality is one that can go as "low as your budget would allow". Yes, subs are more expensive the lower they can go. Entry level subs usually can go as low as 40 or 30 hz. The ones that can audibly go all the way down to 20 Hz are, of course, more expensive. Have fun! ;D

I fully agree. For me, a HT experience is not complete without the subs. It (and surrounds) carries the HT and defines it as compared to regular viewing.

Of all my HT components, I am willing to spend the most on a good sub and then a receiver. After one year in this hobby and having started from Daiichi's myself to my current gears(click), I have come to conclude that ** most low to mid-end speakers** would do a good job for HT (its only dialogue and explosions, not very detailed), you only need to be a bit pickier with the speakers when it comes to music (lots of details kasi).

But its a different case with subs. Since I mentioned that for me, the subs "carries" the experience, getting a good sub makes the difference in HT, not much on the speakers.

**by this I mean bookshelf and floorstanding speakers, I seldom find good satellite speakers at this range**

just my 2 cents.

bro lord i know wat u mean by ok na bass ng floorstanders! kaso iba parin talaga pag may sub! yung mga very low LFE...di kaya ng speakers kaya mas ok talaga sa sub kasi yun yung role nya! better if matry mo sa 1 system na with sub....then off mo yung sub then just set to LARGE yung speakers mo....dun mo manotice yung difference nila! ;D

Bro lord,

Okay na rin kung walang sub, but speaker response is almost never a flat line. Your tower speakers have peaks and dips in response. There are frequencies na malakas sya and may frequencies din na mahina. Especially at the upper and lower limits of the speaker system. Okay lang at the higher ones kasi 20KHz is much more easy to produce for a tweeter than 20 Hz is for a woofer, even for a subwoofer. So at, say, 50 Hz, mahina na ang reproduction ng towers mo. The frequency response rating of Daiichi speakers, by the way, is at +/-4dB. How much more if your system needed to reproduce 40Hz? Iba talaga ang response if you had a sub, since a sub was built for that purpose. A locally made sub would make you feel the difference. Moreover, a more expensive one would have an even better performance. My point? GET A SUB. If not now, maybe soon. But that's just me.  ;D

Provided the subwoofer adds db below the -3db point of the towers flat down to at most 30hz.   Often not attainable with bandpass designs of entry level brands.

That's why I don't really suggest getting a sub with a bandpass design. I've always recommended getting front firing ones. And I've always stressed that "THE LOWER A SUB CAN GO, THE MORE EXPENSIVE IT IS", USUALLY. Besides, the Euros towers 8 can only go as low as 50Hz at -4dB, on the premise that we take the word of Daiichi on the specs. Not getting a sub would only lessen the enjoyment of the LFEs, moreso if you get an entry level bandpass sub like the US Audio 512 which has a bottom end frequency limit of 50 Hz also at -4dB. I've tested it to have a response at around 40 Hz pero mahina talaga sya. The DTX 4.12 can go a bit lower at around 30 Hz , mahina din, but a bit more audible than the 512.

Again, at around 50, 60 hz, mahina na ang towers, so your LFE response would suffer even more if you didn't have a sub. Better pa rin if may sub.

Thanks, sir av. ;D

just got the euros8 tower last friday during the megamall sale.

next upgrade: branded receiver!

Pag you are more into HT, go for the Yamaha. But if you like listening to a lot of music, go for the Onkyo. Thats what I learned from the posts here.
