As per my experience, mas detailed siya at smooth ang bass, sweet mid. But not as good as having yourself an Alnico speakers.  Kalimitan nanalo sa High End Speakers international competition, Alnico speakers regardless of brand.  Ang Alnico speakers kasi kahit anung amp maganda siyang tumunog, di mapili.  The SQ is also properly balanced and can easily reveal the soul of a CD recording, kahit napaka simple lang ng amp mo at source.  Kaya siya mahal at maganda.

Pero di ako naka Alnico, naka AN Standard 8 lang ako which is a ferrite magnet power.

I just got my Audio Alchemy DITB and tweaked it.  The Videos are coming soon.  You can hear the difference now that I will use an External DAC.   :)

Here are the videos with my Audio Alchemy DITB (tweaked/upgraded power supply section) which has an SQ similar to vinyl. Truly an analog sounding DAC that I really love.  Clean and Stable power really helps.

Note:  I only used standard SQ CDs original and CDRs.  Kindly use a good quality headphone or computer speakers for better listening.

Stick with it.  Payong kaibigan.

"Bass reflex speakers represent more than 99.9% of the worldwide speaker market. That's because they give the most clear, detailed, accurate, and realistic sound reproduction. "- David Dicks of Audio Nirvana

The distributor/manufacturer of Audio Nirvana recommends Bass Reflex Cabinet Design.  If you want another bass reflex cabinet plan, pls.click this link: http://www.fostexspeaker.de/gehaeuse/207e_enclrev.pdf -- HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR "ALL TYPES" OF MUSIC GENRE <<<

But you can choose your own if whatever you love better.  As for me, I stick to David Dicks recommendation for his speakers.

Hello! I tweaked again my Audio Alchemy Dac in The Box to get the proper analog vinyl sound that I prefer.  I also replaced and adjusted the Aperiodic Membrane on the port of my Aperiodic downfiring speaker cabinet.  Though the video cannot unleash the actual sound quality of my set up, you can still hear the difference and improvement.

Here are the videos:

Video 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZ9fmywGiAw
Sax reproduction is one of the forte of Audio Nirvana.  It reproduce the recording of sax very organic and natural.  The music in the video was once posted by shrek7 with his beloved AN Alnico 8 and it was amazing.  I read a post from a guy here in PDVD that there's nothing really magical in Alnico.  I thought he was wrong.  But now I think I believe him.  Because, you can also achieve "somehow," the SQ of an Alnico fullrange speakers by proper set up and tweaking.  On the otherhand, the speaker cabinet, the SQ is more balance in Bass Reflex Cabinet as David Dick mentioned.  Aperiodic Cabinet design is a bass reflex with loose vent on its port to give cleaner and more proper bass notes in music, as per recording. Other people will not prefer it, because they love thicker mid and lower bass.  As for me, I love my SQ to be just balance and as close as per recording of the CD.

Video 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFrBfEKIY5w
Music from SinoSiKat- Kat Agarrado vocalist.  Blues/Rock band play reproduced naturally by Audio Nirvana,AA DITB and SMSL Tripath.

Video 3:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQmO9d4lKuQ Vocal Testing by Julia Fordham Acoustic version of Love Moves...

Thanks for watching.  :)

I am happy that I revived my Adcom GCA 510 which I owned brand new since 1998-99, i think. Here's a short story. I sold it to a friend when I tried vintage amp. It was working very well, but got busted after Ondoy.  My friend asked me to help him repair it. So, I gave it to my other friend hoping it would be fixed.  Sadly, he was not able to repair it, until the 2nd owner (my old friend) died recently. My friend died with his Adcom under my responsibility. Then, I realized that my Adcom GCA 510 is really destined for me.  So, I tried my best to restore it, to fulfill my dead friend's wish.

There are lots of good people here in PinoyDVD.  The people who helped me, were the ones I did not expected. So, I would like to take this opportunity to those people who made an effort in finding me a toroidal transformer as replacement for the busted one.  Those people are TonyT, Jojod, Marckrenze, Edrel Sison...lastly Juan bote (John P.) made the customized toroidal tranny.  The size of the toroidal tranny is not available in the market, the main reason why I let John to make me a customized tranny.

I also made some modifications, tweaks, to have a stable power supply and better SQ. Here are the pictures of the innards.

Videos with my AN Standard 8 will be posted tomorrow.  Again, thank you guys. :)

Here's the video of Adcom GCA 510, right after I install the new tranny.  Break in period and yet SQ is already quite good for me.

Video 1: I used a very cheap turntable with very cheap cartridge to test how good the quality Adcom GCA 510 with AN Standard 8.

Video 3: Vinyl Testing checking the SQ (Transparency) of ADCOM GCA 510 and AN Std.8.

Thanks again to the people I mentioned.. Thanks for viewing. ;)

Yes, I am in love with AN Fullrange so much.  If you will go for 6.5, go for the castframe.  I would recommend the DBR of Lyeco.  Just let it modify by your speaker box maker.

http://diyaudioprojects.com/Speakers/LY401F/

I tried this with my 4" before...amazing details and low frequency.  Don't stuff the lower chamber.  If you want details and bass go for this.  If you want thick mid and lower bass go for Transmission or Voigt speaker cabinet.  I like speaker box that gives natural details and bass.  That's why I stick with Bass Reflex. :)

P.S. Larry Roxas (camoteque of wiredstate) said, he was also good in making speaker cabinet.  You can PM him.

Good luck at mag ingat ka.  Miss na kita Wackie.

My friend's Old Audio Nirvana Super 8 ( in Marikina) that I upgraded with David Dicks 2.8 MK2 Speaker box with internal configuration using Fostex's Double Bass Reflex Design.  The insulation is only on the upper half.  The SQ is very organic and detailed using Sakura AV 200T the I slightly upgraded.

@Sidny... anung cheap ang set up mo? Bka cheap compared sa mga 100k+ high end. ;D Anybody frm PDVD is welcome, just make an appointment and bring your own favorite cd album.;)
