Hello mga master, I've downloaded and read the user's manual of the LS5700 before purchasing this TV and it has DTS under licenses. I also read from another thread and Sir Vic of SNS confirmed that it does not decode DTS...

I got confused so I checked the mediainfo/properties of the movies I've played via USB which i think has DTS audio format:

I am new to HD audio and video stuff and just want to confirm from you guys if the above really has DTS audio format? not sure if i was reading the properties correctly... :)

There is a DTS on the movie you play and Dolby Digital(AC3) in case you play the movie with audio IMHO it play the DD not the DTS. If you encounter no audio check if you can activate the secondary audio DD.  >:D >:D

LS5700 is not even 3D ready... I guess misleading ung Ph site ng LG... parang hindi nila ina-update.

to LS5700 owners, confirmed ba na it cannot play DTS audio?

the manual says "The TV supports DTS audio codec when the USB video file playback."

also, is the screen matte (anti-glare) or glossy type?

in case na glossy type, how's the light reflection - negligible or too distracting?

it can decode DTS. The only time I had a problem with a sound codec was with a file with a VORBIS codec.

The screen is glossy. IPS panel. You'll definitely see your reflection when it's too bright. Whether that's distracting is ultimately up to you. For me, it's not. the EH5300/EH5000 has a semi-matte/semi-glossy screen, btw.

@the_w0rks: thanks for the feedback bro. nice to hear it can also decode DTS.

so the EH5300/EH5000 series is somewhat glossy rin pala. so in a way, i will be dealing with some reflection whatever model i choose.

i am now leaning more towards LS5700 given it is LG's top of the line 2D TV series. though i will not be using it's Smart function. i am only after the picture quality.

how's the sound quality of the built-in speakers? enough bass and treble?

Pq wont disappoint you thats for sure. As for sound, surprisingly adequate considering its very slim. Speakers are located at the bottom and is hidden. Movie preset gives it sufficient base, for a tv speaker. Might be different for you tho. I have a small apartment. So there's that factor

Hi,

Can I use the hdtv's Samsung UA-32EH5300 or LG 32LS5700 as a PC monitor?? If yes, ok naman ba yung display, no blurred text or whatsoever?

and, may non-smart tv equivalent po ba yung 32LS5700? afaik, yung 32EH5000 ang non-smart tv equivalent nung samsung.. if that's the case, yung pagiging smart tv lang ba ang only difference nila?? thanks..

btw, the main use of the tv will be for PC usage and PS3 gaming..

yes, you can. given they are Full HD, i think no blurred text naman. of course, dapat tama rin ang viewing distance mo.

none. the closest non-Smart TV equivalent for LG 32LS5700 (120Hz) would be the upcoming 32LN5400 (120Hz). with regards to 2012 models, the next lower model available locally that is non-Smart would be LG 32LS3450 (60Hz).

yes, only difference is the Smart functions. note that Samsung 32EH5300 and 32EH5000 both have 60Hz refresh rates lang din.

i see, about the refresh rates, di naman masyadong issue yun di ba?? and kelan lalabas yung 32LN5400? mas mura kaya yun or about the same price lang ng LS5700

at, pano ko kaya machecheck yung pc display ng tv, ok na ba na magdala ako ng laptop tapos icoconnect ko via hdmi or dvi cable?

^HDMI for sure.

Game mode lang naman kelangan mo if ever so refresh should not matter. I am an LS5700 owner but you I recommend Samsung EH5000 if games lang naman and laptop pagkakabitan mo. if full time movie display siya, I would recommend LG LS5700 with trumotion on. But since dedicated PC monitor, EH5000 is enough.

pag masiyado malayo fast forward ko, minsa nagbabuffer siya. As for the 2012 models ng LG, di yata nila nasali sa lower to mid-range models yung motion blur adjustment setting. It is greyed out sa Trumotion settings. Ewan ko ba bakit di nila sinali sa firmware. Although may new firmware update that I haven't installed yet.

The Clear Motion Rate (CMR) is a made-up number invented by Samsung to qualify how a TV can reduce the appearance of motion blur. The refresh rate alone is not a perfect representation of the motion blur, so they added on top of it the backlight and processor speed.

While it is true that the refresh rate is not the best representation of the motion blur, Samsung is misleading the customers because it usually only displays the CMR in its specifications instead of the real panel refresh rate. This inflated number makes the comparison across brands harder to do.

The table above converts Samsung's Clear Motion Rate (CMR) into the real panel refresh rate, so you can better compare it to televisions of other brands. The upgrade from a 240 CMR to 480 is not worth it, because it is still the same actual panel refresh rate of 120 Hz. A Clear Motion Rate of 720, 840 and 960 all have the same real refresh rate of 240 Hz, so you will not really notice a difference between them in term of movement resolution.

Source: http://www.rtings.com/info/what-is-the-refresh-rate

Hi guys, nakita ko itong table dito about sa clear motion rate. May TV ako yung Samsung UA40D5500. 100 CMR siya, ibig ba sabihin nun ay 50Hz lang yun? Di manlang umabot ng 60Hz

Hi guys, nakita ko itong table dito about sa clear motion rate. May TV ako yung Samsung UA40D5500. 100 CMR siya, ibig ba sabihin nun ay 50Hz lang yun? Di manlang umabot ng 60Hz

Di naman. Yung samsung kasi madami gagawang factors to compute their CMR. As in lokohan talaga. Meron nga sila 2013 top of the line nila na CMR aabot ng 1000 e. Lokohan talaga hanggat pwede! hahaha. Actual refresh rate ng EH5000 is 60hz.

Sinong nakakaalam ng changelog ng v5.0?

As far as I know, nag-add lang daw ng app as per AVS forum. Pero US Versions yun e. Parang may Amazon app something. Not sure what else is new. Parang improved daw interface?
