Very nice review on the Emotiva/Dyn/CJ gear. Glad to know that the tweaks worked out for you. Based on your review the brightness that you experienced in some recordings when you used the NAD CDP is possibly digital glare. Such is the resolving ability of the Dynes. You hear every minute changes that you make in your signal chain. When you switched to analog plus tubes in the signal path the glare was reduced.

Will a DAC solve it? Possible. Will a sweeter sounding CDP do the trick? Again possible. I suggest cheaper alternative in Speaker cables but for now I highly suggest that you forget about the nitty gritty of things and just enjoy the sum of its parts. Put on your favorite tracks, open a bottle of wine and enjoy. you have one helluva system there Atty. congratulations.

Bourbon is my choice of poison. Thank you Synchro_01. I also think it is digital glare. Was wondering if a Marantz CD6004 would do the trick. Let's see.

Bourbon pala...same poison of Judi Dench playing M of 007.

Tube buffer Atty so you won't need to unload the NAD. Beg, borrow or steal first para cost effective. DI kailangan bilhin agad.

After a month and a half, she finally arrived.
Extremely heavy amp. Backbreaking in fact.
So excited to try it out. Plugged it in. Made the connections. Played Friends of Carllota. WTF. Crappy sound. No Imaging whatsoever. Let it run for 3 more hours. Same results. Sound was all over the place.
I had no choice but to read the manual. I hate manuals. Lo and behold, the switch at the back of the amp was on bridged mode. Switched it off and voila.
Suspense.

Will post more comprehensive layman's review in a week or two after I burn it in thoroughly.

As a preliminary, I am very happy with it and it was worth the wait.

Here we go:

Very Big and well packed box

There she is. In the middle.

Paired with:

Porn

If you want power, this Big Momma has lots of it. The Dyns couldn't be happier.

Equipment used:

Conrad Johnson PV14L Tube Preamp
Rega P3-24 Turn Table with Exact Cart
Pro-Ject Tube Box II Phono Stage
Dynaudio Audience 72 SE
NAD 515 CDP
Chord Silverscreen Speaker cables courtesy of Darwin (Defcon3)
Absorbers courtesy of Valsky
Diffuser and Bass Trap courtesy of Tony (Trod)
VDH IC from Preamp to Amp courtesy of Rex
Furutech ICs

Thanks Mick for helping me bring in the Emotiva.

I hope I can finish the review soon. I also promised Narayan that I will do a review of his Furukawa power cable. Will be comparing it with Rega, XLO and Xindak.

Just wondering, does the emotiva do justice to your Conrad johnson? Hindi ba entirely different league na ang CJ? Parang 2 or even 3 levels up panga if im not mistaken. Have you tried pairing it with a Jadis power amp?

Btw pre, how much did you get your CJ?

:)

The Emotiva had too much power for my small music room. The CJ is just right and it matches well with my preamp. The Emotiva definitely had more slam because of the headroom.

I got the CJ through a swap. Very hard to find here in the country.

The XPA-2 is just a power amp. It does not have any color or sound effect circuitry. Any speaker will do just fine with any power amp..
