newbie: rock wool
« on: Nov 29, 2012 at 05:35 PM »
i need advice on installing rock wool on walls.

1. is it ok if i just install the rock wool on the wall without putting another wall or ply wood on it?

what my plan is i want to install a rockwool on one side of my ht room, because on the other side is a bedroom.. will it be effective enough to lessen sound leak going to the bedroom?

I think pwede naman sir but you have to cover it with some fabric. Dust mites magnet ang rockwool pag  yung front eh tela ang cover. How do you plan to fasten it sa wall sir?

Kung concrete yung wall sir, dapat siguro po may side framing kht wala na yung likod at harap at fabric cover lang. If double wall na ply then siguro po, remove the cover and put the rockwool inside then cover it again. Just my two cents :) :)

Where do you get rock wool ?

Philippine Insulation Corp. used to be the best source. Cheap.

I think some members have identified other good sources.
