looking to get an NMT that can pass DTS-HD MA and Dolby TrueHD to my Onkyo HT-S5400 receiver through HDMI
kaya ba nitong R300 yung gusto kong gawin?
tried the source on my HTPC, hindi pala supported ng AMD DTS HD
so now looking for an NMT to do it for me

Swak yan sa likod ng TV. pero elegant enough to be the mainstay sa HT room.

1.4 pang 3D, the cables i give out are rated for that.

myfriend needs an entry level media player, don't need the network connections, as he doesn't have an HT, just wants to watch most file type available.  what would you suggest?  budget friendly na din.

Did some DTS HD sources watching earlier here is my report

Despicable Me 2 may "kurap" during playback
biglang mag black yung screen half second to 1-second tapos  lilitaw yung resolution ng TV sa itaas
parang namatay at nabuhay ulit yung TV pero all without losing or skipping audio
unsure kung sa TV or sa source or sa Egreat

Avatar Extended Cut
Feast for the eyes and ears itong version na ito
I can notice ending of cut scenes freezing pero wala siyang "kurap"
So the Desplicable Me 2 issue could be source file related
Hindi ko tinapos Avatar sa Sabado na ng gabi yung battle scenes to finish

Both movies were files on a 2TB Western Digital Green HDD
connected directly to the SATA port of Egreat R6S Plus Pro
Nung pinatay ko na grabe init nung Egreat nakakapaso hindi ko mahawakan ng matagal
Yung HDD uminit din (pinatong Egreat sa ibabaw) pero hindi sing init

Subukan ko pa further test sa Sabado
1.Are there recommended setting for playback of DTS-HD and Dolby True HD sources?
2. Is HD Audio better than 5.1 or is it the other way around
3. Paano paganahin Premium apps? Kinabit ko sa Ethernet port kaso hindi maka connect

Hindi ko mai-connect ng maayos sa WiFi network ko (sobrang security ng router)
Try ko WPS sa Sabado with appropriate settings sa router

As for playback quality - wala akong masabi kundi WOW!

Hi

The difference with the R6S and the R6S+Pro is the Bare SATA support and the wifi. I have a couple of R6S and its warm when in use but not as you mentioned. Tried  R6S+Pro for a TV Series marathon ok naman in an unairconditioned environment.

I share I do not use the bare SATA unless i really have to. I find the bare SATA nice to have, but plug /unplug may break the bare SATA connector that is board mounted, and as a klutz as I am, i broke a few back in the R200 Pro days. :( So lesson learned--i get an enclosure and do it USB.

Just the same, my player rests on top of the console where nothing else is beside it. I run on my astone single bay 3.5" external enclosure (fanned),  a 12 TB storage (USB 3.0).


for the "kurap", try to set your HDMI 1080p/24Hz and disable auto. disable 3D auto if your material isnt 3D.  To be on the safe, scan your disks in a laptop baka may previously open file.


Units are for passive cooling (no fan) and dissipates the internal heat through its aluminum body.

If I may suggest - try playback from the USB and observe the chassis heat, I would think the Bare SATA support coupled with disk racked on the chassis gets the unit warm.

I though so too, since the device also had to power the HDD.

I'm checking options for USB 3 playback.
I really need to get the home network done so I can also check streaming from NAS.
By the way, does the device remember the files it scanned even after powering down?
Or does it scan again needing Internet connection for the Jukebox?

scanning happens one time only, and generates an index file. however if there are new added folders, it would do it again.

oh make sure you enable auto power shutdown in the settings menu, and eject all media  before shutdown before  i forget.

Grab a USB 3.0 enclosure from Annot, he supplies most of my requirements and he is so easy to talk to.
if you need cover page and poster, you can use thumbgen to fetch one time.

R6S here since last year. However, yesterday I dabbled with my simple set-up and I connected my usb drive directly to my Samsung LED TV. I noticed a huge difference the video is sharper than when I use R6S via HDMI.

Why is it so? Am I missing something in my set-up?
Btw, here is my set-up on R6S.
Video 1080i 60z, Deep Color Off.

I tried other combinations in the video menu of R6S but it seems mas crispier and sharp when I connect my drive sa USB input of my samsung.

Any suggestions?

did you say 1080i ka naka-set? 1080i is like using component out lang from an NMT, so set the R6S 1080p/24hz not 1080i , also set deep color 10 bit or 12 bit, if your TV can handle it.  I assume your Samsung display is 1080p capable.

In the Video Tab

My TV System is set to 1080i 60hz I did changed it to 1080p 60hz.
The1080p 24hz is turned ON and my deep color is 12bit.

Same result it can't duplicate the very sharp video when I connect my drive to the USB port of my TV.

Yes, my TV is full HD 1080.

Baka lang may naka-experience na sa inyo...

I'm using R300 Pro and i just finished downloading a 35 gig Remux 4K Amazing spiderman... but when i played it with my R300 pro, after 2 seconds pa lang stop na ang playing and reboot ang r300 then hang... i tried to play the file with my XBMC sa pc, ok naman... This is the only file na nagkaka-ganun ang r300 pro, yung iba naman na mas malaking file ok naman...

What do you think is the problem, file? any inputs on how to resolve it? Thanks..

Ganun pa din, Off na yung android mode... I also tried to connect the R300 pro directly to my TV kasi pinapadaan ko sa HDMI video processor ng receiver pero stop pa rin yung file after 2 seconds..

It looks like mp4 files are not supported, i've downloaded 4k samples in mp4 format but it says "video format not supported"...

whats a good converter of mp4 to mkv file ba? di ba mababawasan ang quality pag na-convert? thanks.

ordinary mp4 works fine coz most of my 1080p / 720p DL are on mp4 format for TV series.

never tried mp4 na 4K.

Press eject button it will prompt which device to unmount

Isolate first if unit or power since adaptor has led light.  Reseat cables. If no power led nor unit display, Prepare to Send for repair.
