Warner Home Video have announced the Region 1 DVD release of Blood Diamond for 20th March 2007. Amid the explosive civil war overtaking 1999 Sierra Leone, an ex-mercenary turned smuggler (Leonard DiCaprio) and a Mende fisherman (Djimon Hounsou) join for two desperate missions: recovering a rare pink diamond of immense value and rescuing the fisherman's son, conscripted as a child soldier into the brutal rebel forces ripping a swath of torture and bloodshed across the alternately beautiful and ravaged countryside.
Director Edward Zwick’s latest is available in separate Single-Disc Widescreen and Full Screen editions ($28.98 SRP) or as a Two-Disc Widescreen Special Edition ($34.99 SRP). The film is presented with English, French and Spanish audio (DD5.1 Surround) and subtitle options along with a Director’s Commentary.
