Hdmi splitter and its affects

I'm not entirely sure if I'm on the right thread but I am, I'm sorry.
I just wanted to ask if the device "hdmi splitter" really degrades the video quality a lot?
I'm asking because the processor I plan to get only has a single hdmi out
