my
audio set-up.
last March, after I had a chance to audition, I replaced all OEM power cord with Furutech DIY. the overall result on my system is like they have been fed with vitamins. highs are softer and still extended, mids are more full bodied and lows are more evident. the change in power cord was really evident, this is a clear observation using the Xavian Altea speaker.
due a visit in Audio Amplified for a replacement of speaker terminal on my tube amp, i had a chance to audition this beautiful
Castle Richmond 7i with super high-end line magnetic tube amp. myself and my 16 year old son immediately got hooked. we tried my tube amp after the repair if it can handle this speaker and the answer is kayang-kaya. we had a huddle before making any decision, he was more into it than myself. within a week, brought home this baby for its beautiful English sound and to show support to my son.
here are my impressions after three weeks of listening with Cayin 265ai SS and Bada SR-HEAC07 tube amp.
musical and lively.
open and expansive sound stage.
great 3D sound, instrument separation and placement is very precise.
very good balance high, mid and low.
fast, agile but not fatiguing, warmish but engaging.
high is crisp.
mid is warm.
low is ample but not overbearing, round sounding, not muddled.
revealing, brightly recorded music will sound bright and forward sounding.
it sounded fast and tight with the SS amp and malambing and meatier with the tube amp. detailed in both cases.
beautiful cabinet finish, very pleasant to the eyes.
still made in England.
