John Poscablo added a potentiometer sa 2A3 power amp ko so i can adjust the gain nung naka0biamp ako dati.

in this case you need a pink noise generator/RTA to ensure that gain is flat across the board...otherwise hula-hula ang adjustment...
That's OK, you can like or dislike anything you choose. That's the wonderful thing about the freedom

2. Source---integrated amp---pre-out---tube preamp/tube buffer---main in

mukhang ok tong ganitong connection.
tube + audio nirvana = beyond...

yup
this was my initial plan - tube pre to technics....but dont have budget yet...
so itried to connect it to HT system first kaya lang hindi gumana...so i assume tube pre-amp wont work either..
kelangan mayos ung switch from normal to seperates for pre-amp to work

Hello Guys

I have a yamaha receiver which has pre-outs and main in-puts.

What option will bring the most improvement in sound?

1.  Buy a power amp and make the yamaha as pre-amp?

or

2.  Buy a pre-amp and make the yamaha as the power amp?

tks

You need to specify what kind of Yamaha receiver you have. Re sound, is it for sure stereo listening or 5.1 movie or 5.1 music?
