There could be a better actor than Joey Marquez. Papiyok-piyok pa siya. His voice is not nice for a serious movie like the OJT.
I agree with this. There was an interesting article in
Esquire when the film came out - Marquez stepped in for Richard Gomez, who dropped out to run for office in Ormoc. Not sure he would've done a better job, but he probably wouldn't have come across as a comic relief.
They also said Gerald Anderson role was initially offered to John Lloyd Cruz, who couldn't fit it into his schedule. It also implies that Piolo Pascual was pushed out of the project for a while, and Derek Ramsay was attached to the film (I'm guessing in Pascual's role).
It certainly would have made for a very different film.
The only non-negotiable in the casting was Joel Torre.
