Me as well. He was a huge factor in both finals where they became champions. Is he retiring? I wonder who will they replace him with.

Sayang si Mike Miller kung bibitawan ng Heat. Wala ng "Miller Time" sa Miami, 'yung tres nya nun game 5 sa finals without his left sneaker on was epic and will always be remembered.   :(

I guess Mike Miller was too expensive for them to keep. Hirap din ng situation ng luxury tax na yan. And it's the last year where they can use the amnesty provision (i think)

Time for James Jones to #letitfly . magkakaron narin ng minutes sa wakas.

...and now they can sign Dalembert or Oden(<-- hope this guy "can" play) meron na kasi silang pera to do it.
They save about 17 or 40Mil sa pagkakaalam ko.

Actually that's not a bad idea. He's going to earn 6M for 2 seasons. But its hard for a player to hang his jersery. For them it's more of a passion than a job. Prime example is Brandon Roy. He got a lot from being amnestied by portland and yet he signed w Minny even if it's already very dangerous for his health.

No expiration date on the amnesty clause.  But players with live contracts who are amnesty eligible will expire after the 2015-2016 season.  So last chance would be summer of 2015.

By cutting Miller, Heat save around $15M in taxes.  But they are still over the cap.  But even if they didn't axe Miller, they can always sign Oden or Dalembert not because they are under the cap (which they are not) but because they can sign free agents via the veteran's minimum or the mini MLE.

Hmm.. Ah ok. Yeah $17M daw this season pala. :)

Quote
By waiving Miller and his $6.2 million contract for next season, the Heat realize a savings of $17 million on the NBA's luxury tax for this coming season, with that savings on Miller to rise to upward of $40 million over the next two seasons, with the tax becoming even more punitive for the 2014-15 payroll.

Stories from the bizarre, weird but totally hilarious.......  ;D :o :P

So Kobe Bryant sued the auction house and called his mother a liar on Mother's Day for selling off his stuff.  His reason was he wanted his children to inherit them.  But then auctions off the same stuff himself.  Talk about a dysfunctional family.   ;D  This is the kind of family you see clashing and confronting on The Jerry Springer Show. LOL!

Kobe Bryant auctioning off parent's copies of his championship rings

This thing is so ugly. So, so ugly.

OK, so you remember when Kobe Bryant's mother was going to auction off a bunch of his high school stuff, and he had his lawyers file for a restraining order? OK, that lawsuit was settled, it's done.

Well now, via the Orange County Register, there's word that he's put the items up for auction himself as part of the settlement. You can find his high school jerseys, a 2000 All-Star game ring, and some other memorabilia from when he was a youngster.

Oh, and you can also find two of his 2000 Lakers championship rings. They're extras, not the originals. They're the ones he got extra ... for his parents.

These were rings his parents had intended to sell, so you can't really blame the guy. Hey, if they don't want them, why not? Also, half the proceeds from the sale go toward a documentary about bullying.

In related news, TMZ reports the rings have the words "Bling Bling" on them. I would also want to sell them, unless it was 2001 and I were Master P.

Bids for the rings as of Wednesday afternoon were up to just under $85,000 and just under $35,000 respectively.

The Los Angeles Lakers will be one of the most aggressive teams during NBA free agency next summer. The majority of the current contracts come off the books for the Lakers next summer and the team intends to bring in one or two big names with all the cap space available.

One player that will likely be targeted will be All-Star small forward Paul George. As an Los Angeles native, George would be the ideal fit and believes it will be difficult to say no to Kobe Bryant when he comes calling via Scott Agness of Pacers.com:

“My heart is still in Indiana,” the 23-year-old said. “… I’m still a Pacer, and hopefully I remain a Pacer. I’m happy where I’m at.”
George said that him hypothetically joining the Lakers would certainly be a “family-favorite team.”
“Of course it would be tough (to say no to Kobe). You’re talking about playing [at] home.”
Along with George, the Lakers are also said to be showing serious interest in superstars LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony. Both players are set to hit the free agent market as well and will be aggressively pursued by the storied NBA franchise.

Although signing any of these players is a stretch at this point for the Lakers as all three players intend to remain with their current teams, Los Angeles is hoping Kobe can help with the recruiting effort.

With the team unable to retain Dwight Howard, the Lakers will be desperately seeking an elite player or two to help carry on the team’s legacy with Kobe entering the twilight of his career. James and Anthony are ideal candidates with George coming in at a close third.

Scalpers gonna scalp. Get tickets for free, sell it for profit.

:D

A friend who has connections with cops once had a scalper arrested and tickets got confiscated...he did that so he can have his own ticket to watch the UAAP finals. Ateneo vs UST a few years back.

Poor scalper.

What's Lebron gonna do btw? I just read na it depends on his mood daw. Sick dunks sana. :D

bayad daw yan sa pag pila nila. May kaibigan ako nag camp out talaga since gabi pa just to get those tickets. Unti now di ko pa maintindihan yang camp out na yan pati yang release ng sapatos.

business-business lang yan...di talaga maiwasan yung ibang pumila lang with 100% intention to sell(2 tix per person, 2 tix din binenta)..tubong lugaw ika nga :D

atleast in my 'ticket group', were are fans who really want to see the king, the extra 3 tix they 'sold' is just a little incentive for the time and effort for lining up...besides they're just newly grad college kids, extra income for the jobless hehe ;)

come to think of it...il be babysitting my siblings and their friends pala :D

doesn't justify the selling of a free item, IMO. the time and effort they(everyone who camped out) was from their own will. yung karamihan talag dun for profit lang pinunta. real fans who will buy the tix should feel like they got robbed. haha

Bwahah

Parang yung nanlilinos na dahilan mabuti na manlimos kesa mandukot. Hihi
