I think it is just the same. Whether i have just said "Boring", those people will still go on.
I guess you asked for it and you had it coming. You posted in a thread where people seems to be thrilled with the game
Anyway, about the empty seats last night the culprit really is the pricing. That's about $600 a seat. Damn, that's PLAYOFF price.
About the lack of excitement and highlight reels, we should realize this is preseason, not playoffs. And this is not an exhibition game, it's more of a tune up. Players are not supposed to play at a high level nor are they obliged to thrill the fans. I guess what you paid for here is the unique chance to witness the first ever "real" NBA game in Manila. And the chance to see in person the players including the legends like Bird, Mchale, Drexler. Nothing more, nothing less.
I guess the fans, me included, after having seen ALL STAR games played here with the likes of Shaq, Kobe, D Rose, KD, CP3 and even Lebron were expecting a bit more spectacle on the game yesterday. Hence, the disappointment because the game was nowhere near close, there were a few highlight dunks, few razzle dazzle moves except for James Harden ( who knew what Pinoys want ) and perhaps Jeremy Lin ( who had to live up to his LInsanity in Asia ).
But if you look at it simply as a preseason game, I guess it was worth it. We saw how strong Houston is come the NBA season with DH12. We saw how Scola can be effective with the Pacers.
Other than that, let's be happy that a first happened in our country. Hope not the last, but also hope that the prices will be reasonable and affordable the next time. Who knows, in the future baka Heat or Lakers may play here??
