Wade is old, lacks the determination he used to have, probably coz of the injuries he had before,

Carmelo: Leaning towards leaving the Knicks. Bulls and Rockets are top teams to acquire the service of Melo. Or will he join the BIG 3?

sana sa Bulls. :).

So, its the BULLS and ROCKETS as lead suitors for Melo.

To clear cap-space, the BULLS will need to amnesty Boozer and lose a prime Gibson (and likely an emrging Butler) ....... losing Gibson and Butler makes a major dent on that vaunted BULLS defense.

To clear cap-space, the ROCKETS will need to lose both Asik and Lin - both of them have massive expiring contracts, which is almost always attractive to rebuilding teams ....... losing both Asik and Lin wont have much impact, since Asik hardly plays (has long demanded a trade) and Lin is a 2nd string PG.

Theoretically, the ROCKETS can still keep Howard, Harden, Parsons, Beverly, Jones, etc which should be more attractive to Melo compared to the BULLS ...... add the fact the uncertainty that DRose brings due to his injuries.

ROCKETS = Very good roster, Half-decent (High octane offense, little defense) Head Coach, but plays in the extremely tough West

BULLS = Incomplete roster, Blue-chip Head Coach, but plays in a very weak East

Staying in the eastern conference would be the best choice for a star chasing a ring. The east is so weak, if you join Miami, a finals appearance is almost guaranteed every year

Sana sa Bulls na lng, trade boozer, melo wants a ring baka magbigay ng discount, and yes para may madagdag sa elite teams ng east.. could be the best starting 5, rose (?)  and melo can take care of the offense.. the other 3 noah, gibson, and butler on d..

Happy Father's day to all..

Go Spurs.

IMHO Melo would be in a better position with Chicago for the ff reasons:

1. They are in the Eastern Conference, better chance of going deep in the playoffs.

2. He will be the #1 option in the offense & not much adjustment on his end as Rose is still trying to get back into his old form (hopefully), compared to going to HOU where he will have to contend with Harden in ball hogging.

3. CHI is a better defensive team with Noah anchoring that end, plus Joakim is more mentally stable unlike Howard who requires too much attention & drama.

4. Better coach, Thibs can turn a mediocre team into a playoffs team in the middle of the conference while trading their #1 offensive player in the lineup - Deng. McHale, no comment.

Boozer amnesty wont work. He'll have to be part of a sign and trade. The Bulls have enough assets (2 picks in 2014, 2015/2016 picks still intact, rights to Mirotic) to sweeten the deal. I don't think they'll necessarily have to give up Taj and Butler(very valuable assets playing above their salary), not both of them anyway. Knicks also don't want to compromise cap space for the 2015 season, so they probably won't want Taj.

Potential Melo deal could be something like - Boozer/Dunleavy + draft picks(or Butler/Mirotic)

A possible Houston deal could also include a sign and trade for Parsons + Asik/Lin. Rockets picks are also intact, so they could use those to sweeten the deal.

A Melo to Bulls scenario without losing Taj or Butler

1.Amnesty Boozer
2. Renounce rights to free agents to free up cap holds (except rookie contracts)
3. Trade away the guaranteed contracts of Dunleavy and Snell without getting any 2014 salary in return
4. Trade away 2014 1st rd draft picks (either package with Dunleavy/Snell or for future picks)
5. Assuming that the salary cap will rise to $63.2M in 2014-15, Bulls will have around $20M in cap space
6. Melo would have to sign for a bit less than his max contract scale

+1
Melo has a better chance at CHI than HOU, coaching-wise.
Unfortunately, Thibs is known to bench offense players like Boozer on 4th Quarters. He'd rather defend than score. Can Melo withstand that humiliation? >:D

for me Melo should find a team with very good players or another franchise player ... he does not have the capability to lead a team to championship ... if it will work, he should pursue joining Miami, that's the only for him to have a chance of winning a championship - at para ma-challenge naman ang Spus ... Thibs wasn't benching Boozer for Gibson because he'd rather defend than score. Gibson was simply better than Boozer at this point of his career.

Melo isn't even that bad defensively, he's just at a situation wherein he expends most of his energy carrying the load on offense.

I know. It onky shows that Wade can be an a-hole similar to Sprewel.  Good yet inconsistent.

Let's Go Heat!

I'm expecting a close game today - well, a more competitive one compared to the last two. Not a fan of the almighty Miami Heat, but I'd be really disappointed if they don't show up again today. They've shown that they play tougher when facing elimination - what more with their title on the line. I heard that Bosh even guaranteed a win today. Astig ;D

On the other hand, the Spurs probably feel some pressure with everybody expecting them to finish this one today on their home court. Baka manggigil sila, knowing that it'll be dangerous if they let this one go back to Miami. This is the game Coach Pop should prove why he is the Finals MVP.
We deserve better.
