Bedside speaker placement
« on: Jul 19, 2013 at 12:37 PM »
Mga masters, I just want to know your opinion/take on placing bookshelves speakers on bedside will work. I mean the usual placement of speakers is upfront. By the way, this will be used for audio listening only. My bedroom is not the big for me to have a place for speakers sa paanan ng kama. Sa right side ko, I only have about a foot of space. And ayoko na patagilid ako makikinig. So naisip ko na right speaker on my right side, as in sa sidetable arwa, and left speaker sa left side naman. Reason din na gusto ko sya ilagay sa bedroom is para magamit ko sya lagi since I like listening to music before sleeping.

So the question is, ok lang ba na ganun ang placement ng speakers? Parang headphone ang dating kasi left and right speakers will be placed at the left and right side of the head. Thanks guys!

Yes I think ok lang naman as long as hindi critical listening.
2" full range mono speaker. San ka pa!

pwede naman. Or kung gusto mo sa harap mo sir you can wall/ceiling mount mo yung speakers that way walang naka harang.

Ambience setup bagay sayo. I've heard a Bose speaker with built in sub base then sa pole my dispersing mids and tweets. Busog tunog throughout room. Powered speaker pa. Pricey but a good system for what you have in mind. I've heard on using ipod and ganda tonal balance.

Thanks sa mga suggestions sirs.

It would only be a temporary set-up since yung dedicated audio room ko gagamitin for a couple of months for another reason. As much as possible walang drilling muna sa bedroom. Pero pagnagustuhan ko na may speakers sa bedroom, that would be the time na it would be permanent na. Hahaha!

my 2 cents only

Natawa ako sa madaming 3M hooks! Hahaha!

About hanging them sa walls, napaisip tuloy ako na mas ok nga yun. Now yung wires naman ang proproblemahin ko...

Diyan kailangan artistic ka. You can use transparent wires para less visibility. Or kung white ang wall mo, you can look for white wires and/or white duct tape. Pwde ka din mag-design ng thin wood conduit and make it look like a thin speaker stand. Kung naka-wall paper ka, cut a strip of leftover na tugma sa pattern ng pagdidikitan mo.
Ayan. No need for 3M hooks.

I Just simulated the wall mounted planar setup ,  it will work and look nice too , but the setup is too fuzzy  ,Baka imbis matulog ka galawin mo yun speaker para ma improve pa yun tunog .  :) power hungry pa .

Definitely Not for a temporary setup.

High end headphone setup will be more satisfying. I am using Westone UM3X in-ears, Schiit Asgard amp, and Mac Air and it is very good. Headphones will hive fuller bass.

Best option talaga yan sir. And if you need to remove it may nabibili na parang clay sa ace/do it yourself na parang putty to fill the holes.

Since sanay ang tenga ma so good sound and you know the impact of speaker placement on sound i think hindi ka sasaya sa balak mo.

OT, try listening with your UM3X with Samsung phone (I use Note) with Neutron Player. Excellent reference.
