ipon na lang uli.. I really wanted an Oppo 103D but 30k+ for a player is too much.. 15k is already expensive

kaso kung 15k yung pioneer tas if ever bili din ng darbee aabot din pala ng 30k

Hi Photonyo, What do the think of the 450 ? I have a Pioneer BDP-LX08 & just before I left the UK I bought a BDP 103 + a Darbee Darblett (the BDP 103D hadn't been released). It was packed immediately so haven't powered it up to compare the 2.

Hi Oldboyracer, I was also planning on getting the Oppo 103D but i wanted to apply the Darbee with all my devices so I ended up with the Pioneer 450 then in the future put the darbee at the HDMI out of my receiver so everything connected to the receiver gets the darbee treatment.

I now enjoy the TrueHD soundtrack of blurays since my Playstation didnt support that format. the sound is more crisp and punchy.

For picture i put the setting to "professional" meaning no alteration to the video signal. Compared to my PS3, there seems to be more detail with the 450.. with the PS3 the picture was a bit darker, with the 450 its more balanced i think which makes me think i see more detail.

Selling points of the Pioneer for me are
1. Load time is faster compared to Playstation
2. Chassis is bulky, I like to fill up my component rack

3. Half the price of the Oppo 103d but if i purchase the Darbee, price of the two would be similar.
(just waiting for the release of darbee 5100 so i can display on my rack)
4. This review also convinced me on getting the pioneer

my only gripe is the remote, Its sometimes slow to react. I've never read about that on reviews. maybe the buttons need more breakin hehe its a bit crisp to push.

Hi Photonyo, I bought my Darbee from my Oppo dealer & he said I would not see a lot of difference using Darbee with the Oppo. As I was leaving the UK decided to get it anyway, I'm sure I'll find a use for it, if not I'm sure one of the forum members would welcome it. The 450 will be a big improvement over a PS3 which is an OK BD spinner. IMO Pioneer video technology is among the best, I'm sure they didn't allow all their video development people to leave when they pulled out of the TV market. As you've found TrueHD makes a big difference to the viewing experience.
I'm surprised at the remote, all my Pioneer remotes I have found OK but I suppose again it's personal preference. At last someone else who favours the bulky gear to fill up the rack, my TV rack is a bit of a glass monster & seriously thinking of turning it into a HiFi rack with the TV on top. Now I'll be bi-amping the audio system I won't have enough space in the old one. It's always good to hear that a new purchase has made a difference. Hail the upgrade.

I'll place my reservation on your Darbee then hehe just kidding. I think it will make a difference specially on big screens or projector.

I would have saved money on a slimmer Pioneer BDP105 since i already have Qdeo up scaler on the receiver (thats the only thing i see diff from the 450) but like i said, I like a full rack

Can't beat a full rack - it looks good. If I decide not to use the Darbee I'll let you know.

Anytime sir pwede naman. usualy may work lang ako ng Sat-Sundays. ang weekend na free ako is April 19-20. pag weekdays free naman ako usualy and nasa house lang

less than 5min walk lang ako from Quezon Ave MRT
