How many of the 10BQ5s you got Tony? I have the OPT for it that can make a very nice PP 10 watter amp..

hindi pa kabilang dyan ang mga nabasag...about 10....i can give a quad of the 10bq5's no problem...
i am sure you can make a power traffo that can use 10 and 6.3 with a flick of a switch....

madaming japanese na equivalent ng 5y3....

still going over the tubes, overall, i am very happy with this find...a gold mine indeed...
i found 7au7's that can substitute for a 6cg7....drop in...

happy for you tony. makes all the effort of going there and be subjected to extreme room temperature all worthwhile. i was glad i brought an extra shirt then.

dana, it was my find. my uncle knows the former owner of these TV tubes. would you believe took me 2 years to convince the owner to sell..

these tubes are all in boxes, not loose tubes.....

latest tube count stands at 3607, while it is not possible for me to use them all up,
i may donate some of them to schools and to young tube hobbyists
who can not afford to buy tubes...after all, it was thru the generousity
of my high school chum that started me in this hobby, this friend gave me
my first soldering iron, lent me transformers to make my first tube amp,
a mono 6em5 pp tube amp....

@cyberdraven, if do not hear from the one supposed to borrow the 12en6 pp amp by this week, you can bring it home this weekend...

FYI, the 12EN6 is also like a 6V6.....you have a 6BQ5 amp now, so that you can have a chance to compare...

btw, the 5894 SET is now somewhere in the Commonwealth QC area....

Great sir. My 6bq6 PP is with my friend already but i have here a SEP/SET el84 amp to play with. Last week, had a chance to audition a fellow pdvd highend system. The tempo is to die for. I feel my system lacks enough power to deliver such agility. I feel a high powered PP would be my best bet.
