Thanks to everyone for the kind words.
Part of this madness is in tuning it the right way. My room dimensions always had a bump in the 40 Hz to 50 Hz range and the SPL meter proved that. So I measured everything using Stereophile test tone from test cd#2, applied the correction/calibration values and tried to find the best bass response.
The nice thing about the LS50 is the port plugs. It's not just sealed and non-sealed. There is an option where you get the middle part out of the port plug so it is still hollow like a donut. I found that worked best with my setup. Right now I am using that way of plugging the port with the sub set at level 3 and crossover at the 23rd spot. I lose a bit of the low end 30Hz and below, but it will still be there and I will have a relatively flat frequency response across the board. I put it all in excel file.

It's a good thing I ended up with the KEF's because it is the only speaker I know whose port plugs have 2 settings so there is added versatility. MY initial impressions are that they are good, but that is something I need to post in the appropriate forum.
Next mission: Nice voltage regulators, and long term "want" (and not a "need") would be a nice pre-amp dac.
