Funny but when I opened my TV, score says 80 ADMU, 79 UP.. Akala ko kalaban ng UP e Adamson. Sabi ko match talaga UP and Adamson. Then I saw Ravena and Newsome. Sabi ko, ha?? Ateneo pala... hahaha.

With UE winning over FEU, it now puts a lot of pressure on NU to win all its remaining games or hope UE loses its game against DLSU.
DLSU vs UE this coming Wed Sept 10 will be exciting.

Great win by UE! Sumang delivered after a one game suspension. If Sumang plays like this, UE is tough to beat. Also a monster game from Mammie, Galanza and Alberto.

Yes, UE vs DLSU will be exciting indeed.

No doubt UE will be more exciting to watch in the final 4 but sad to say their fate lies not only in their hands but also that of NU.

If two teams are tied after eliminations, automatic knockout game yun? Or titignan muna if one won over the other? Tapos pag split ang wins nila, knockout game? Or winning margin naman ang titignan?

criteria #1 is quotient
criteria #2 is head-to-head
criteria #3 is determined by computing the total points scored during eliminations divided by total points allowed in the eliminations

So if UE ends up tied with a team after the eliminations, mas gugustuhin nilang ma-tie with NU since they have the edge there.

^ Oo nga? I think the scenarios among DLSU, NU and UE are:

1. If NU wins today, they end up tied with DLSU at 9-4. UE 8-5.

(a) If UE beats UST next Tuesday, loser of NU-DLSU on Sat ties UE for 4th with 9-5. Playoff between UE and the NU-DLSU loser to determine 4th place.
(b) If UE loses to UST next Tuesday, loser of NU-DLSU on Sat is automatically 4th. UE will be out of the F4.
(c) Either case, winner of NU-DLSU on Sat goes up to 10-4 and plays virtual best-of-3 against loser of ADMU-FEU in the semis.

2. If NU loses today, NU ties UE at 8-5. DLSU 9-4.

(a) If NU beats DLSU on Sat and UE beats UST next Tuesday, NU, DLSU & UE will end up tied at 9-5. Quotient to determine 3rd, then playoff for 4th place between the remaining two teams?
(b) If NU beats DLSU on Sat and UE loses to UST next Tuesday, NU & DLSU will end up tied at 9-5. Quotient to determine 3rd/4th. UE falls to 8-6 and is out of the F4.
(c) If DLSU beats NU on Sat and UE beats UST next Tuesday, DLSU goes up to 10-4 and plays virtual best-of-3 against loser of ADMU-FEU in the semis. UE gets 4th, NU falls to 8-6 and is out of the F4.
(d) If DLSU beats NU on Sat and UE loses to UST next Tuesday, same as (c) for DLSU, but NU & UE will end up tied at 8-6, will have a playoff for 4th place.

After this NU-UST game, the only games that will determine the rankings are:

DLSU vs NU
FEU vs Ateneo
UE vs UST

That makes for 8 scenarios.

If we include this ongoing game, that's 16 scenarios.

Fun fact though: Kahit anong mangyari, hindi magtatapos ang elimination round this weekend

Magkakaron at magkakaron ng playoff games. Hehe.
