HMR in Pioneer Street Mandaluyong City has an affiliate firm that disposes electronic waste, called Envirocycle.

repair or junk shops. they may not pay much, or even nothing.

I also have a Panasonic 42X50 that had a cracked panel. Even the service center won't buy it. It is still in its original box with all the accessories.  I asked for the replacement of the panel and just ordering it costs more than buying a new one factoring in shipping costs and labor.  The warranty of the replacement panel is just 3 months.  It's more practical to buy a new one.

I too am in search of an alternative. I am in the same boat.

You gave me an idea and I was looking at the various buy and sell sites.  Mostly being sold are the X30 models running at P16-18k 2nd hand. Walang defective and I am not sure if the X30 and X50 panels are compatible.
