what are your experiences with branded and generic cables? for hdmi, cat5/cat6, audio cables

especially if long ones. what i read so far if short lang go for generic but for long cables go for the quality ones.

Get a good generic at least, something that meets certification requirements. That way you stay within compliance even for the longest run allowed by the standard.
