Projector HT set-up.. please help
« on: Sep 07, 2014 at 06:37 AM »
What's the best distance when you hang a projector to a ceiling if you have a 100 inch screen? What's also the best screen size for this type of projector. Got the 100 inch 16:9 screen pero pwede ko pa palitan based on your recommendations. My projector is Epson 3020. Thanks in advance.

i also have 100" screen (motorized), about 10ft viewing distance using Epson TW8100/5020. from my own experience sakto lang 10ft, you can watch full screen movies without panning your head from left to right/right to left... :D

For a 100" screen optimal viewing Distance is 13'. For your pj, if it can handle that distance then you can mount the pj directly over or a bit at the back of your head so you wont get distracted when watching.

Now if later on you would want a bigger screen than 100" then this early you have to compute for it, 120"-140" may require pj distance of 12'-16' depending on model of pj. But Keep in mind the closer the pj to the screen the better for the lamp power(lumens)

Congrats on your pj sir

Sir suggestion for trial and error.
If mounting the screen is on a final area.
Then "on" the projector as in table mounted and see if the size is to your liking.
So more or less that is the distance away from your screen when going to mount it on the ceiling.
To Boldly go where no Bluray has gone before.

Correct! maski hawakan mo lang and move forward or backward, may idea ka na. ideally masmalapit, masmaganda, pero making room for a bigger screen.

If plan mong table mount... just take note of the disadvantage that when someone crosses in front, all those watching will say "oyyyy". :)

your 3020 sir, eh walang lens shift. pag ceiling mount yan, ang haba ng arm nyan if you want it na center yung image na walang correction.  kung maikli naman nakatungo yang pj mo. keystone correction na lang.

sir I also got Epson 3020 and 100" screen. Distance of Projector to screen is 12 feet. 1st row seating is around 11 feet. viewing distance is good for me.. its like seating in the middle of a theater :) but some prefer to be farther.

my setting of the Epson 3020 is at Economy mode. much silent fan and picture brightness is good. in Normal mode i can hear the internal fan working harder.

i think you can mount the projector as close as 11 feet for a 100 screen

Basement ko ise-setup kaya eco-mode would be sufficient. Hirap lang umpisahan kakatamad kung wala ka kasama kahit taga-abot lang ng kailangan. :(

Guys any tips on where i can get a pj screen na perforated? (center speaker has nowhere else to go but behind the screen)

Budget is a factor. Mobility is another one. So i guess the choices available are either tripod style of or floor pj screen. Kahit hindi na motorized.

Sa cdr king sana ako kukuha, pero afaik, hindi yata perforated yun.

Sa Pinas kontak mo si Ricky... I know he can give you a deal, di ba sir Ricky? Amazon ko binili yong Elite screen ko for $130. Talo ka pag dito mo bilhin tapos pa-ship mo sa Pinas.
