No...I haven't been back since I left in 1973. However, my wife and my older son have visited Surigao, especially the wife whom have visited it on many occasions. I do have some relatives still living in Nonoc Islands, besides Surigao City. Speaking of which, my first job after graduating from Surigao Del Norte National High School was an assistant cook while working for the Marinduque Nickel Mines in Nonoc Islands, which is own by Marcopper Mining Corp.

Dalawa pala belts ng TNT. Do you have to adjust both when shifting to a different speed?

Anak ng pating, mapapamura talaga ako sa ganitong tanawin...
Dodie,

The secret is, do not lie. The trick is...do take her to her favorite jeweler shop first and buy her a 2 carats diamond ring and then order the new Krell Evolution Series system at the same time. When it arrives at your front door, I doubt that she will even notice it as she will be too busy looking at her new diamond ring.

congrats sir! Tulo laway talaga ako.....slurp>:D

dts-HD 3D,

The TNT motor has two spindles, the top one is used for 33 1/3 RPM speed and the lower spindle, which has a slightly larger diameter is used for the 45 RPM speed. I use the VPI PLC System to power and maintain the motor's constant speed at either 45 RPM or 33 1/3 RPM.

The sound of this turntable is as natural as one can be that is devoid of any artifacts such as wow and flutter, according to the casual listener's observation who was listening to it about a week ago.

Oh yes...kitchen appliances, especially the ones that are made with stainless steel can also be used as a wife diversion when buying audio equipment. However, in my case, I used the much bigger diversion when I literally bought her the whole kitchen kaboodle including the granite counter top.

Come to think of it I'm still ahead of the game, because it only cost me 1/3 of the cost to upgrade her kitchen than what I paid for my new system upgrades. But don't tell her that, because otherwise I'll be screwed. .

For the price of the 2 carats diamond or diamonds, I'll just buy it another piece of KRELL equipment  ;D

It is a stress buster/reliever alright. This is the main reasons why I built my listening room so I have a place to go to relieve and rest my weary bones and mind after a very stressful day at work.

Listening to music is always been my fashion even when I was growing up in the Philippines. I remembered listening to Nat King Cole’s Unforgettable song at midnight on my father’s little battery operated radio, although it sounded tinny and full of distortion, but, still it amazes me to no end how Nat’s voice came through from the little tinny sounding speaker in a magic kind of way, which still resonated in my memory even today.

According to my friends who regularly listen to my system do agree, that my system has the uncanny ability to bring the musicians in the room as if they’re playing live in front of you with no reservation. One of them specifically said that he was having hallucinations while listening to Patricia Barber’s "Companion" cd...it is that good!.

Only in my dreams.  ^-^

“Dreams can come true if you envision it plenty enough”. My father once told me, “If you dream you better shoot for the stars, because chances are you’ll land on the moon”.

Building a very satisfying and musically engaging system is an art rather than science. Although I must admit that you don’t need to spend crazy money to acquire them but through diligent research and patience as there are a lot of used equipment out there that can be had, which sound just as good.
