Safety strap for tv?
« on: Sep 27, 2014 at 11:59 PM »
Are there any tv straps available here in manila? http://www.diapers.com/p/kidco-anti-tip-tv-strap-2-25138

Kinda need one since we have a cat and the tv might get knocked over when we're not around. Pansamantala habang wala pang wall mount I guess.

Or kung walang ganun, any alternatives?

Sir, you can use 3M hooks sa TV and wall/rack. The you can use straps or maski tali lang because as you said, pansamantagalan.

Orderin mo na iyang straps sa link. US Priority mail takes 3 weeks. Office Warehouse has wrapping Velvco straps 3 sets in a pack. You only need to find the mounting buckles elsewhere. Or DIY them.

I am more concerned with the cat being with the baby. I raise 4 cats and know these aren't pets for children. Too dangerous. If you must have them clip their claws regularly when they are asleep.

Kung ako, gagamitin ko yung screw holes for the wall mount, kasi yon ang matibay.

2 screw bolts, 2 pairs metal washers.  Screw the bolts with washers on the TV's wall mount screw holes.  Tie a thin solid wire on each screw bolt in between the washer pairs, then tighten. Connect the ends of the wires to the rack with a metal screw eye.

Why use double tape on the back panel, e may matibay na screw holes na doon.

buy the screw sa tosuy.. secure using the screw holes sa likod ng tv..use nylon belt as straps. secure to the table.. please do note that this will secure the TV from falling forward lang, unless you secure the straps to the ceiling...

Why bother? You'll spend as much time figuring out and installing the alternative as using the proper wall mount. Better do it right the first time.

Thanks for the replies! Ok yung washer thing. I might try that. Pero sa ngayon, mukhang di naman trip na bagsakin ng pusa namin yung tv. Naglagay nalang ako ng pangharang sa harap nung tv since malaki ung table at may space sa harap.
