Question on cables
« on: Nov 07, 2014 at 03:57 PM »

Need your help guys.

We transferred house a few weeks back, and it's only today that i got the energy to set up my HT. While setting up the cables, it turned out the cable for my left rear surround is short by at least 3 feet! Is it ok to just buy 3 feet of cable? Tapos ipagdikit ko na lang dun sa nabitin na cable then balutin ng electrical tape? Kasi kung bibilhin ko ulit yung buong cable, that's another 32 feet!

Thanks in advance!

pwede naman mag splice, better if you can solder the splice joints and use of shrinkable tubes is even better than using tapes....tapes harden and become slimey with time....

bro, better to post your query under sa topic "interconnects" under "general" which is in turn under "hometheater" para mas maraming makasagot.

Sa buy and sell kasi ito.

Ang mga amplifiers and speaker crossover madami ding putol sa loob so it's ok kung dagdagan mo yun existing wire mo.

Sa Deeco madami. Yan yun parang plastic/rubber tubes used to insulate mga spliced wires. Pasok mo muna ang shrinkable tube sa wire, splice wire and connect, then ibalik ang tube that sould be enough to cover the bare copper wires. Paiinitn ng apoy, lighter heat gun para mag-shrink.
