Over the weekend, I also watched the following:
(1) Solomon and Sheba, with Yul Bryner (with real hair) and Gina Lollobrigida in the lead roles.
(2) David and Bathsheba, with Gregory Peck and Susan Hayward
(3) Salome, with Stewart Granger and Rita Hayworth
(4) Ben Hur, with Charlton Heston and Stephen Boyd
(5) The Robe, with Richard Burton, Victor Mature and Jean Simmons
And of course, my Lent would not be complete without the unabridged "The Passion of the Christ." You really should read Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich's The Dolorous Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ before watching this movie. Because after reading it, the Gibson's movie would be tame and less violent.
Not watched but on annual rotation:
(1) Quo Vadis, with Peter Ustinov and Robert Taylor
(2) The Greatest Story Ever Told, with Max Von Sydow as Christ
(3) The Last Temptation of Christ, with Wilhelm Dafoe as Christ
(4) Samson and Delilah, with Victor Mature and Hedy Lamarr
Watched early during the week
