Topic: Help Needed in Setting Up HT

Hi Guys, need some ideas to my predicament. Here is the problem: I have decided to reactivate my old Kenwood THX AV receiver and hooked a Samsung bluray player and plasma display. Only the latter 2 equipment have HDMI connections. The receiver only have both optical and co-axial digital. I have connected the co-axial digital audio out of the blu ray player to the AVR and the HDMI out to the TV. Video is OK.

Problem is I cant get the system to output DTS or dolby digital in the AVR. It only operates on stereo mode altho the center channel works  when I activated the test tones. What gives? Appreciate any ideas I can try. Thanks in advance.

sir try to set the bluray audio output to raw. baka po kasi naka default sa stereo ang settings:-)

check the bluray setting to make sure that the audio is not coming out through hdmi. also, check your co-axial cable by using another one just in case. also, try to use the optical cable option to cover all your bases in case either of the input audio jacks is not working.

Update: found and set the bluray audio settings to "unprocessed" and dolby digital now appears at the AVR display and the center channel now works. Thanks again guys for the help.
