Topic: Is this speaker setup possible?

Hi guys,

Pa-confirm naman if puwede itong naisip ko.

Meron akong 2.1 pc speaker, sa headphone slot nakaconnect.
Possible ba na magdagdag ako ng fronts (BS speaker for example) at center speaker, connected to an amp. Tapos iconnect ko via rca sila sa PC to effectively have a "5.1 " system?

Naisip ko lang to utilize my old pc speakers habang ipon mode for satellites/sub.

Parang ganyan sir.

  2.1 pc speaker connected to pc via headphone jack +
  BS and Center speaker + amp connected to pc via 3.5mm to rca = 5.1 system

Nagexperiment ako kanina din with my 2.1 and my headphone, mukhang posible. But instead of using headphone jack, I used the 8 channel built in sa mobo.

 headphone connected to fronts +
 2.1 (sub and satellites in 1 connection) connected to rear = 5.1

Hindi ko lang magets paano alam ni windows na may sub pero it seems working.
Headphone represents the FL and FR, satellites the rears, and sub.

One more thing that is not yet clear is paano ang pag-decode ng audio. Hinahanap ko pa sa specs ng motherboard ko about sa audio.

Ang nagcontrol ng sub is yun amps ng 2.1 speaker mo.

Hi, your question is if it will be an effective 5.1 system right? When we say 5.1 kasi, each of those speakers have a certain purpose, not run all of them on stereo mode. So the planned setup won't work to make it really a 5.1 but rather a 3.(1) since you are running the sub on a separate lineout from your standard 2.1 set.

Yes sir, if its possible to distribute the sound like a usual 5.1 system do.
But from the trial I did, it seems doing the job sir. The 2.1 (connected to rears as per above), only produces the background/sound effects + sub. And the headphones (connected to front), acted as fronts/center with the vocals (and some sound). Though I am not an expert on this. But I have an htib I can compare it with.

When I tried this setup before, I remember the sub out is on the same jack as the center channel. If you want a true 5.1 out of this setup, you would need an amplified subwoofer with a dedicated sub input.

Yes sir, ganyan din available sakin. Center/Sub ang channel.
Pero if I will have a dedicated center, where will I connect the sub?

Yung gamit ko dati sakin, stereo baby plug to RCA converter. Yung isang RCA isaksak dun sa amp ng center tapos yung isa naman dun sa SUB IN ng subwoofer.

Same type of cable lang ginamit ko sa FL & FR, CEN & SUB, tsaka RL & RR. Bale tatlong baby plug naging anim na RCA.
Kung iisipin mo 6 channels talaga sya kasi 6 na amps ang kelangan mo pag sinama sa bilang yung amp ng sub.

@megalomania: May 5.1ch output ba ang motherboard or soundcard mo? Ilan channel ang Amp mo? Kung Stereo amp lang yan, you need another Amp for the center channel.

Headphone out > connect to 2.1 speakers
Rear out > connect to Stereo Amp > Rear speakers
Center out > connect to Amp > Center speaker

Regarding amp, audition mode pa lang po for speakers/amp.
