Well, I spent most of my lunch hour listening to the Swift. Very elegant speakers . The carved floorstanders are really art pieces. No veneers here. Unassuming, low visual impedance, big winner in form factor. Lalaban!
Mated to a MF cd player feeding Sonic Frontiers preamp and amp, two guys ahead of us lay stuck on their seats gazing at the gun shop. And with good reason, these are good speakers.
First impression was, wow, good output from puny little drivers. Good overall presentation and detail. Highs a bit tame on low volume passages but comes to life with due metallic brilliance on a grander scale. Pwede!
Mids are fairly balanced and sweet. Articulate with smooth integration with the tweeters. A bit thin on first impression, not much air on the vocals but is very well a function of the source, cabling, and the room. Lumalaban pa rin!
Down low, aba. May ibubuga ang puny drivers. Bass is full and deep. Entertaining indeed. But not low enough for the technically enthused. Again, blame it on the room. Or aspire for the Kestrel 2. Hehe. But heck, I enjoyed the music. Far deeper than my bookshelves. I missed the "bilog" of well tuned tube setups though. I could come up with excuses for this pero halata na eh. Hehe. Not much impression on speed though. Materials on board didn't warrant development of any impression on speed. Next time. Dala muna ako Moca Frap.
Bottomline, we went back to the office dreaming. Biglang panis na naman car audio ko. I hate it when this happens.
Mr. Elmo, pwede!
