Pioneer AVR won't turn on.
« on: May 18, 2016 at 04:02 AM »
Hello!

Anybody here experienced any problems with their Pioneer AV receivers?

Mine (VSX-521) was working just fine yesterday when my daughter was playing PS3 until it shut off after about 2 hours and won't turn on since. I've had this AVR since 2013 and never gave me a problem before. I've read same problems in AV Forums regarding Pioneer VSX 521, 522, 821, 822, 1021, and 1022 models. I also tried to reset and did some tips which I got from AV Forums but nothing happened.

Any advice?

might have something to do with the fan. Check the fuse inside.
84" 100" 120" 150" Motorized or Manual Projector Screens still available. Just pm.

I checked the fuse with a multi-meter and it's fine. The 521 doesn't have a built-in fan too.

There should be a standby assembly circuit that has the relay which turns on the main transformer. You may want to take a look at that. However, if there is a DC fault it will not power up. I read before there is a DC-fault bypass for the 521-K so you can continue diagnostics.

Good luck.

Same problem as mine.

Try mo ito sir, press POWER ON and ADVANCE SURROUND (front panel) at the same time around 5 secs kusang mag open yan.

Then pag nag open na, you might want to put an exaust fan sa ibabaw ng unit mo, overheating yan, kasi may auto protect mga Pioneer sa overheating, kusa nyang ishu-shutdown yung unit.

I tried doing that but it still didn't turn on. It's at my friend now for diagnostics.
