Was shopping earlier for an entry level set for my son's play room(aka my living room). This will be used for watching Peppa Pig, a few movies, and playing some music(like Baby Shark). Dropped by my favorite audio store, Watts Hifi in Makati Cinema Square, and was offered the B&W 685 s2 and the ELAC Debut B6 to be paired with an entry level Onkyo tx-sr373. Right off the bat, the B6 seemed easier to drive, although both speakers are rated the same at 87db sensitivity. Playing music in low volume, the 685 distorts using the 373 while the B6 sounded fine. In a louder volume, the sound character of each speaker gets more evident. The 685 shines in the midrange where it sounded super smooth and intelligible. The B6 does well in the low end, making it sound like a large floorstander with ample bass. Seeing that the B6 fills my need better(and my wallet), I got the Debut B6. Now a happy camper!
