Why do you keep on mentioning the Bulls offer? This is immaterial here, you know why?
He left Miami Heat because he felt he was disrespected by Pat Riley by not giving him what he deserves from his services and loyalty to the Miami Heat. Think about what he asked... 25M/yr for 2 years! Hindi ba nya deserved yun? Di naman nya hinihingi na 30M max nor 5yr deal! Di ba yun kaya ng Heat?
He had no other choice but to leave. Not because he wanted to go to Chicago. I think Denver had a bigger offer but decided to just come home to Chicago instead.
But it was you who posted that Wade deserved the max - setting aside the amount & length (CBA dictated), a max is the max, regardless of team right?
HEAT & BULLS didn't give it (amount & length) ...... neither did the NUGGETS. Heck, not one offered him a 3rd-year.
Since all teams vying for Wade didn't give max, maybe all were thinking in the same vein; that Wade is a risk to breakdown soon and most don't want to be tied-down and want to be cap-flexible given the bumper crop of FA's next offseason.
Like I said, kita naman na Riley was trying to find the balance of keeping Wade, trying not to lose some more pieces and/or trying to gage the FA market ...... outside of the CAVS, the East is wide-open.
Kung hindi na injure si Whiteside (and losing Bosh early), tiyak sila ang kalaban nang CAVS nung East Finals ...... Riley, tried to retain their core and stay within the tax limits that the Arison's wanted.
Like I said, not all NBA franchises operate the same way.
It's a sound decision by Riley, though sad since it lost them the face of the franchise.
