Why do you keep on mentioning the Bulls offer? This is immaterial here, you know why?
He left Miami Heat because he felt he was disrespected by Pat Riley by not giving him what he deserves from his services and loyalty to the Miami Heat. Think about what he asked... 25M/yr for 2 years! Hindi ba nya deserved yun? Di naman nya hinihingi na 30M max nor 5yr deal! Di ba yun kaya ng Heat?

He had no other choice but to leave. Not because he wanted to go to Chicago. I think Denver had a bigger offer but decided to just come home to Chicago instead.

Yup, there are some who write about a masterplan by Riley, for Wade to exit.

IMO a good GM/President will think a few steps ahead, regardless of the situation ...... the HEAT retaining Wade, will give them at least one more year to contend against the CAVS in the weaker East.

The HEAT losing Wade (and Deng & J. Johnson), will mean start of the rebuild around Dragic, Whiteside, Winslow, Richardson ....... more cap space for the much-richer FA class next offseason (more, depending on Bosh's condition). Plus, they own their draft pick next offseason.

In today's booming cap, rookie contracts (for valuable picks) are just about the most valuable contracts there is.

But it was you who posted that Wade deserved the max - setting aside the amount & length (CBA dictated), a max is the max, regardless of team right?

HEAT & BULLS didn't give it (amount & length) ...... neither did the NUGGETS. Heck, not one offered him a 3rd-year.

Since all teams vying for Wade didn't give max, maybe all were thinking in the same vein; that Wade is a risk to breakdown soon and most don't want to be tied-down and want to be cap-flexible given the bumper crop of FA's next offseason.

Like I said, kita naman na Riley was trying to find the balance of keeping Wade, trying not to lose some more pieces and/or trying to gage the FA market ...... outside of the CAVS, the East is wide-open.

Kung hindi na injure si Whiteside (and losing Bosh early), tiyak sila ang kalaban nang CAVS nung East Finals ...... Riley, tried to retain their core and stay within the tax limits that the Arison's wanted.

Like I said, not all NBA franchises operate the same way.

It's a sound decision by Riley, though sad since it lost them the face of the franchise.

Wade's position was a lost cause. It was a take it or leave it offer by Riley. Simply because Riley took the opportunity for Wade to leave the door by  it's own account. Kawawa naman si Wade. After the team is done with you you will be put in a situation to leave because of pride.

That is why I tend to agree with other players who have the power in their hands to choose where to go at the peak of their health and careers like Lebron and Durant. They should not be loyal to a team. They should look out for themselves , do what they want, and do what's best for them and their their families. Kudos also to Jordan to have retired healthy and still at the peak. Di na nya hinitay na sipain sya.

^ Hold your horses brader, no one is disputing Wade's contributions to the HEAT - he is/was the face of franchise.

Another thing I agree with you - some overpaid guys in there, Bosh, Dragic, etc ..... but these are all done and signed guaranteed contracts. Have to work in the now, than complaining about the past.

It's very easy to see the reasons why Riley took the hardline stance of $20M/year ....... trying to guage the FA market for some pieces and adding anything more to their Wade offer (north of $5M) would have resulted in shedding some key player/s.

Riley was trying to strike that balance of retaining Wade & fielding the best lineup they can - extremely likely that they made the last East Finals where it not for a Whiteside injury in that TORONTO series. They're right there in the East ...... not saying much when compared with the CAVS, but it's something than hoping for an 8th spot e.g. KNICKS, BUCKS, etc.

I've been watching hoops for a long time, I've long outgrown being a fanboy - I'll follow teams that I like regardless of who's on the roster.

==========================================================================

Shaq was 3x champ, 3x Finals MVP ...... Pippen was alpha-1B of the BULLS, 6x champion.

So, Shaq & Pippen weren't "faces" of their franchise when they were trades because of contract disputes?

Counting Olajuwon (heck let's add Ben Wallace, Champion, 4x All Star, 4x DPOY, 3x All-NBA Team - who left the PISTONS since he felt low-balled, signed-up with the BULLS)  ..... that's 4 franchise players who had similar scenarios that DWade was in a few days ago.

Four different teams, 4 different GM's ....... so, Pat Riley wasn't the only one after all.

So, which one is it ..... you posted that DWade deserve the max - the BULLS didn't give him the max either ...... I don't see you ranting about the lowball offer that the BULLS gave DWade.

I am not close to being an executive but between Wade and Whiteside, I woukd really want Whiteside more, he is young and the Heat can get more from him in the long run, Wade has shown brilliance in the recent playoffs but I dont think it will still be the same the next season moreso the season afterwards.

Quite true.   ;D

I was thinking mas magiging hype if Wade joined the Cavs ;)

Pero Dahil kay wade CAVS added a 3pt shooter - M.Dunleavy and Maybe Ray Allen (GSW or CAVS ata)

Watched the 76'ers and the Lakers summer league game yesterday. Ben Simmons is the real deal. The only thing questionable with him right now is his jump shot and his desire to always pass the ball. Ingram had a bad game yesterday but one can see the flashes of brilliance from the #2 pick already. He does need to gain weight a lot otherwise he will just be pushed around when he makes his move or much worse he will be a liability on defense considering the players that he will guard in his position.

OT: I watched the Canada vs France championship at the Arena yesterday ... Tony Parker and Cory Joseph were really impressive ... Tristan Thompson had 3 dunks, but hardly a factor as he was really defended - I guess he needs Kyrie and LBJ playing with him to be effective ... the lower box tickets which were priced at 10k+ were selling for PhP800 1 hour before the game, so I exchanged the general admission tickets that we bought online and took the lower box tickets

That's a great deal you got there.

Malamang nalugi si Manay sa pag stage ng Qualifying dito sa atin ....... tiyak taas na naman ang electricity rates soon.  ;D

Tristan Thompson is a role player, far from being a superstar in the NBA ....... though he does his role very well for the CAVS - rebound & defend, score when the situation calls for it.

Kris Dunn looking like the TWOLVES starting PG soon ....... kid is good - kinda reminds me of Gilbert Arenas, deceptive speed, handle & toughness.

Barring injuries, a core of Towns, Wiggins, LaVine & Dunn under Thibs will be playoff bound eventually.

Looks like Ricky Rubio will serve as the transition PG & might be traded for an asset ....... or if he's willing, he'll come off the bench once Dunn becomes a starter.

^ Yup. Game-changer itong si Thibs ...... everywhere he went, drastic improvement & winning happens.

Both BOSTON & BULLS were among the tops in defense when Thibs was with them.

The one big knock anyone can say about Thibs, he plays his starters too much - even on blowout wins, he keeps them on the court ........ sana magbago na siya sa aspetong ito.

TWOLVES will vastly improve under Thibs - however, they'll be needing steady vets really soon ....... kaya tingin ko bilang medyo na ang araw nitong si Rubio sa team.

Rubio has the highest-salary and will likely be traded for steadier veterans.

I certainly hope TD lands some sort of front office Job if not a coaching job with the Spurs. That Gentleman is the perfect "employee". Never demanded for a huge contract, always stayed focused on his role. BEST PF of all time! If the bulls have a bronze statue of Michael, the SPurs should have one of Tim.

Indeed the past seasons, he took below-market-value contracts, so that the SPURS can sign those key-pieces for the team to contend.

Yup, if anyone in the SPURS franchise deserves that statue, it should be Tim.
