Personally, I find the proprietary D-link in Denon DVD players a real advantage as it allows you to use only one digital cable for DD, DTS, CD and DVD-A. (Not yet SACD, though). Thus, you can get digital 5.1 hi-rez where you only get analog 5.1 in others. But this requires a similar D-link capable Denon receivers and preamps. Unfortunately, this D-link is only available in mid-high-priced models. Same with Pioneer's own I-Link. Though I much prefer Denon over Pioneer Receivers, except perhaps their elite line. Just my thoughts.
