100k more than the lg c7. Carlo baka may kakambal gf mo hahahah
Hanap tayo partner:)
On to the first part of the impression:
Build Quality:
Premium built as expected from Sony (i guess from anyone at this price range). Well structured, sturdy and looks great even when turned off. The fact that it doesn’t have a visible stand makes the screen larger than it seems. Similar to the C7... It looks like a huge IPad that can attract a lot of finger prints. Be sure to stop touching it when it’s installed and also make sure you keep people away... if you don’t like smudges on your Tv like I do! The stand is a thing of beauty that houses the subwoofer and well placed inputs. A fabric speaker cover hides the subs but I’m not sure why it’s needed... its in the rear...dust protection perhaps? Anyway it looks stylish so no complains here. Lastly a stand balancer sets this huge TV firmly in place.
Set up was fairly straight forward but the “firmware update” crawled to nearly 20mins (my connection maybe).
Screen quality:
The A1 has a glossy screen that handles reflections very well. Light is effectively blocked off and the only reason why some minor reflections are seen is because of the sheer size of the unit. View angles are very good with blacks holding strong even at an extreme angle. Colours and brightness though... took a minor hit.
The infinite contrast ratio of this OLED gave fantastic black levels with no elements of grey spots or cloudy areas. Perfect for a dark room environment! This is literally bringing the cinema home from a display point of view! Now comes the first issue....Switching to a grey background...I noticed vertical bands on the left corner of the TV. We need to quantify this further. Vertical bands are a phenomenon with OLED technology but sadly the A1 exhibits this more than the C7. I’m not sure how much this impacts real time viewing but from a very cautious stand point, if this gets worst in the near future then we’d need to beef up our warranty benefits! Flaws on cheaper TVs are somewhat negligible but for something of this price? We should be less forgiving. Anyway, it’s way too early to tell.
Though the LGC7 practically shares the same panel with the A1. The A1 has a different processor — The X1 Extreme! And we’ll find out how much difference that makes. On a surface level, the C7 appears to be just a little bit brighter than the A1 even in a well lit environment...The X-tended dynamic range option of the Sony OLED is supposed to make the TV brighter but i haven’t tested this function well enough to draw a conclusion. Motion handling is well done and movements with Sony’s motion flow is one of the smoothes I’ve seen so far. Sony is a master of motion interplation and that legacy carries on very strongly with the A1.
(This is a very early impression and may change in the coming days)
More later:) I need to thank my sponsor muna haha
