Precisely my point, scouting is key,
The talent is always there, but there are some factors like work ethics and others. thats why gms who pick the kobes, the malones the manus, look beyond nba workouts.
Lucky nga as ive said for the LAL, maski olats sa rebuild, dahil big market, big name players want to play for them
Re: Kobe
I dont think they looked beyond the work out kay Kobe. Several people have recalled his private workout with the Lakers and they said he destroyed Michael Cooper in his workout which lead Jerry West going after him.

2015 and 2016 had Towns and Simmons as sure #1 talents, respectively. But the rest were all gambles after the #1 pick of those two draft classes.
Yung 2017, walang clear #1 so pure gamble lahat ng picks. Lonzo is decent so far and if you watch him play, you will see glimpses of his potential. Problema lang yung motor nya. Kulang sa aggressiveness and confidence.
Kung anong malas ng Lakers sa past #2 picks nila, maswerte naman sila sa late picks nila so far. Kuzma and Heart have potential to be core players for the Lakers if they continue to progress. Hopefully Wagner becomes a good system guy.
And Ingram still has a lot of untapped potential. Hopefully this season he finally breaks out.
