send me email and i will give you the schematics of the original...this is a simple common cathode with about 50volts plate and a cathode follower with about 2mA plate current....you can reconstruct the schematic out of these data...

any gas tube regulator, like 0B2, 0A2 can be used...anyway, only the first stage common cathode need regulation, the second stage cathode follower may do without it, at 200volts supply, this is plenty if you only need 2volts or so output..

tubes like 6DE7, or 6CM7 can also be tried....the 6DE7 operated at 10mA or so will yield even lower output impedance, enough to drive a high impedance headphone.... ;D

just don't mention the name "4play" and we will have no problems...

No offense bro,  I thought this community help us to share ideas to any fellow or aspiring DIY'r. But of course maybe the designer have a plan to make a mass prod. in the future

pssst dana, un pala susi! whambamthankyoumaam no need mention f***play. nasanay kase ako ung pinagiinit muna- warm-up period lang not burn-in, tho masarap maka-break-in ;D

The VR is used as shunt regulator. It is after the last PSU capacitor.
