From Shams Charania:

Kai Sotto — a 7-foot-2 center from the Philippines — has decided to skip college and will be the first international draft prospect to sign a deal in the NBA G League pro program, sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium.

Good luck, Kai Sotto! The uncertainty surrounding the US NCAA basketball tournament next season (because of COVID-19) probably played a huge factor in his decision.

wow.. Goodluck!

This and the fact that the G-League now offers USD 500K annually for top prospects.

What Adam Silver & Shareef Abdur-Rahim did to the G-League is a game-changer ........... top HS prospects (one-and-done) will be hard-pressed to pass this up.

With one-and-done prospects, why spend a year with an NCAA team, when you can now earn big playing in the best developmental league in the world.

It's a loooong road for Kai Sotto - he needs to beef-up fast and there's the motor ........... how he develops his 'motor' is a million-dollar question.

IMO just about right ang position ni Pippen (he can probably be switched with KG, arguably Dirk) .............. as great as Pippen was, he was more complimentary than an alpha-star.

Yes, he was forced to be the man, the year MJ first retired, but stints with the ROCKETS & TBLAZERS showed that his BEST FIT was a do-everything complimentary starter.

Being among the top 19-21 players isn't a bad deal for Mr. Pippen.

If not for injuries, most likely these two would be in top 20. Penny and Grant

Grant Hill had a much better chance than Penny ............. aside from injuries, Shaq alluded to attitude issues that Penny had.

Grant Hill's game looks soft, but he played with heart. Too bad the PISTONS couldn't find the right pieces to surround him.

Hill played nice, simple and clean basketball.  Detroit had a solid backcourt back then with Dumars and Hunter but the rest were role players. He try to toughen up in 2000 but that ruin it for him and a chance with a great tandem with Tmac in Orlando.

It was the backend of Dumars' career, Lindsey Hunter was reliable but not a standout ............ too bad they lost Allan Houston early on - a Hill-Houston tandem would have been a nice foundation.

The biggest what-if of Grant Hill's career (and TMac) ............. what if Grant Hill wasn't injured & Tim Duncan signed with the MAGIC back in 2000.

Duncan-McGrady-Hill would have been a perennial Finals contender.

Following up on ESPN experts poll on the Greatest Players in NBA History, the Top 10 was released today:

https://tv5.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/29105801/ranking-top-74-nba-players-all-nos-10-1

Absolutely no debate about who's number 1, but the the rankings for the players from 2 to 7 are interchangeable.

That's about as good a Top 10 list, as anything done recently ............ though I'd have Larry Legend a bit lower, Hakeem enters the top 10 and Shaq at no. 11.

It's the motor-part that Kai Sotto needs to somehow develop ............. Asians normally don't have that fast-twitch, high-activity that other races have.

Not unless Kai Sotto becomes the Hulk, his best ceiling would probably be someone like a Brook Lopez - be a stretch 5 by hitting the open long ball, protect the rim in spurts and passing/find the cutters.

Agree ako sa #1 and 2. Pero magic should be at #3. Yung top 5 all time ok to. Yung 6-10 ang kalokohan.hehe

Timmy should be #6 followed by kobe at 7.

^ It's understandable, given your age ........... Wilt was simply dominant for his time.

WC won 7 scoring, 11 rebounding & 9 field goal percentage titles and led the league in assists once (only non-guard to ever lead the NBA)
WC with career averages of 30.1 points, 22.9 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game

Wilt also has the rings and individual awards .......... 2x Champion, 4x MVP, 13x All Star, 7x All-NBA First Team, etc.

Duncan was great, but can't deny Wilt his spot.

I do agree that Bird should be below TD & Kobe ........... I'd have The Dream at no.10 instead of Shaq.

Being a Celtics fan I would have Bird rated higher of course.  In the top 5.  But not without basis.  Still the best forward.

Bird in his freshman year not only won rookie of the year award, but he was already an all star and a member of the All NBA team.  He also brought a lottery Celtics team immediately to the Eastern Conference Finals.  Not to mention at that time, the best turnaround in league history for a team from 29 to 61 wins. Imagine from lottery to the best record in the NBA.

Then of course winning a title immediately in only his second year.  He won the MVP three straight years.  Bird was only one of three to accomplish the feat. And the only non-center to do so.

All of these achievements while playing for only one team.

grabe bakit 73% lang ang favor ky jordan vs lebron? dapat 100% to.

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/29187444/michael-jordan-better-lebron-james-every-way-says-poll-nba-fans

That's just right .......... may variance dapat para kapani-paniwala.

Kapag 100%, some might claim a rigged or a biased poll.

Can't blame some for choosing Lebron over MJ - kung may next-level pareto on who voted for Lebron, malamang ang edad nang respondents would be a factor ex. mga mas bata for Lebron.

However, there are 2 metrics which IMO should have been EASILY in LBJ's favor - Better passer & Trust to pass you the ball ....... and that's not a knock on MJ.
